The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

Absolutely! Being 100% cotton, this shirt will take ritdye perfectly. Someone recently dyed one of my Blade Runner shirts to darken it and it came out great (and as a bonus it didn't darken the contrast pink stitching).

Kind regards,
Indy

Indy, can you (or anyone else) recommend a specific rit dye color and dye bath formula that I should use to color my shirt?
Also Indy - I am still interested in getting those Joker gloves!

Where are you getting the mask from (new sources are always appreciated :))?

I can't say I'm allowed to post his info, but I'll drop him a line when he replies to my last PM. He may even be a member here, and by may, I meen most proboly. :lol :p

Also, for anyone who has an account there (with credits?), they can download realy good refrence material on this site. :

Most of the images have been posted in one way or another, but to see them all there at once is a wonderful thing. :cool

EDIT -

If you haven't looked at RIT's site for colors, you should deffintly check it out :

For the powder color, eveneing blue, or royal blue are your choices. However, I'm preety sure Wal-Marts stock Royal Blue. Or they stock that blue localy for me anyway. RIT's site also has a Techniques page you might check out as well. :)

(I think it matters how much color you'd like to add to the shirt as far as techniques go though. :))

Indy,
would it be possible to get some sample swatches of your Joker fabric to test out in dye baths?

Sure, anyone who has ordered one of these shirts and would like a test swatch, shoot me an e-mail...

Kind regards,
Indy

Received my Darth Mule Joker pants yesterday and they look beautiful! Quality is nice and the stripes look perfect. Took some quick pictures out in the sun so you guys can see the color on this. I'm working on a Joker mannequin and once that's finished, I'll be taking more pictures.

These pants really helped complete the whole Joker image for me.
Thanks Darth Mule! I think these are the most accurate pants out there.

Wow, I LOVE those pants! :love

Baron's buttons don't look accurate in those pics. :

Not to mention there's 5 sleeve buttons spaced a little bit farther apart than they have them.....They seem to only have 4.

Those are the purple pinstriped linen I found. Still no good resource for the wool, but this has the right look I think.

Oh, what the heck. Here's me over Halloween, the Friday and Saturday nights. My first picture post on the rpf!

the above mentioned suspenders are awesome. they are a little bit darker than the picture but the pattern is exact. better than hand painting an all white pair.
:ninja

Are we sure these arent the correct suspenders? I know they look dark, but the description says green diamond pattern... taking another look at this image (below), they may very well be. The background color could very well be black, and the bright green we are seeing could be a lighting effect. Has anyone seen the suspenders for sale in person yet?

The braces in post #392 are made by Albert Thurston. When these braces were first discovered, then only available in black on black or white on white, I contacted Albert Thurston directly regarding these particular braces. I was informed that they did not supply any braces for production. However, they released the green on black braces shortly after.

Here are some pictures that someone posted of these braces on TDH.

I do not believe that these are the exact braces, as the AT's white braces give off more of a silvery shine when not in direct light. Although they are not available with green diamonds.

yeah - I just watched the actual scene, and at a different angle, they are clearly white with green diamonds... hmmm...

so if you were to get an all-white pair, what would be the best method to make the diamond parts green?

Ya, using any kind of fabric paint would work, as Bleyd said. If you go to Hobby Lobby, etc. you can find a realy good match in fabric paint markers. I've been holding out on suspenders myself...I can't decide what to do. :p

Also, here's the mask I'm purchasing. I can't say who the user is, and I'm not allowed to say how to get ahold of him. I can tell you that the mask I'm getting is the last pull he has. :
