The pants look amazing. @Darth Mule

I'm pretty sure by now every Star-Lord Fan would like to have a detailed outline of the pants at the least if no one is going to commission or make a run for them.

It's a very detailed pants, and very hard to produce. Hence reason why most people wouldn't want to start a run for them as they're pretty too much labor work to produce them.

But come again, they look amazing! Specially the side leather holsters pad. :cheers

Cheers!

There is one outfit in China, I think, trying to make progress with the pants.

1st Gen pants is a jacket/pants outfit...

2nd Gen pants is under....

I've been tempted to order the 2nd gen. They even have a working knee, you can see it in photos down the page.

Whoa, you mean the links that lead to pages with the crazy entire-star-lord display? Is that not a member of the RPF?

You mean the black pants on ebay with the rocket buttons attached? I'm not referring to those pants.

The second listing.....

.....are the ones I'm considering.

Can anyone advise, are the lenses in the Star Lord helmet blue or purple? I have these two photos however I'm not sure what one is correct or if both are right but used at different times of the movie, slightly confusedImageUploadedByTapatalk1437558807.478644.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1437558833.796667.jpg

You got a build topic/tutorial someone could look at?

Thanks for the compliments. I'll see what I can do with this second pair I'm making. I think I can help the do-it-yourself-er along. It's really kind of a no-brainer to get the pattern once you know how. You'll wonder how it could be that simple.

Hard part is assembly.

Does anyone have any decent close-up pictures of the zipper pull on his short hero jacket?

I know it's just a piece of leather folded and wrapped with something but I really want to see a good photo of it before I try to replicate it. The ones I've seen so far haven't been that clear.

It's a piece of leather strap wrapped in thick red thread. The thread is either waxed or (more likely) coated in a thin layer of PVA (or other clear) glue.

When you say "thick thread" what exactly are we talking about? I'm probably being very ignorant but I thought thread just came in a standard thickness?

There are several types of thread used in sewing, depending on the application. A suit will often use thinner thread than jeans. A sail or canvas cover for a boat will use much thicker string. It's good bet that the type used on the Quill jacket zipper pull is the waxed kind commonly used in leathercraft.

Gotcha, thanks for that, I will look into it.:thumbsup

Sure. Though I very much doubt anyone will closely scrutinize your string accuracy! Well, I guess I could think of one or two that might around here... but not in general.

It's just a heavy weight cotton or linen thread. It's not waxed, it's just got a slight sheen to it. And there's a dab of glue on the back to hold it all together permanently.

I'm in a pickle guys, and I'm asking for help.

I have Worldcon coming up, and it might just be the biggest convention of my life. It's actually about 15 days.

I have no illusions about whipping up a screen accurate costume in that time, but I want to at least have a complete costume.

I have a good enough helmet, no lights though. Not sure if I could get that done in time.

I have a pretty good ebay jacket, wish I could get a Lopuz (sp?). But I don't even know if I could afford it or get it in time.

I have a weaved belt with a military style buckle, but I'd like to try and maybe make something that will slip over it or something.

I have holster pads that will work for my blasters, they slip over the belt kind of like real holsters. Not attached to the pants. That's why I'm just looking for something to finish the belt to a good enough standard.

I can't get into the pants I bought last year....:lol So I'll try and find some motorcycle pants locally or something.

I have some vinyl boot covers I whipped up. They're actually not bad for pleather. And I got them to slip over the shoes and everything.

I need some quick and easy rockets. I was recommended some Capt America binoculars (amazon). If anyone has done this route, love to hear it. If anyone has another idea, love to hear it. Also would appreciate hearing methods of attachment. It'll be attaching to vinyl which is cinched to my leg by elastic in the back, so can't be anything to heavy. I'm willing to cut into my covers if i need to.

I will probably bring a walkman, I got one that's good enough. It plays tapes so bonus. I got some cheapo earphones with orange pads.

I got a copy of the retail tape, which will do fine.

I got a sphere and a stone.

A black bag, it's like that bag everyone recommended to mod but has three straps like the movie setup.

Basically, I'm begging for help. Any ideas, advice, anything that I can make the best items I can in the time I have. And I don't even have all that time. I have to complete a BTTF 2 jacket, brand the shoes, and I got a couple of quick easy costumes I have to make.

So that's it. Thanks everyone in advance for at least reading all this. I am truly in a desperate position and I appreciate anything anyone is willing to advise to get my Star-Lord in as tip-top shape as I can in the short time I have.
