"Several coats........jackets!" I see what you did there Jodo!:lol
Thanks guys! I'm very pleased with the final product. I may add one last light layer, as after shining it slightly some of the polish wore off. Next up with be weathering my motorcycle pants and satchel.
This is my first cosplay that included weapons of any kind, and I'm concerned over weapons policies. Is anyone giving their blasters an orange tip? Some cons say "futuristic" or "obviously fake" guns don't need it but other cons say all weapons need the orange tip. Thoughts??
That jacket looks great! If I had the extra cash to throw around I would have definitely invested in that one!
That Etsy jacket looks pretty nice. A couple details off, but the patterning should definitely be on the side panels and straps. The only difference was those panels were considerably darker on the real thing. The biggest failing of that jacket is the patch. It's insanely massive. I'd be curious to know the dimensions of it, but it looks like maybe 6" x 3" when the real one is 2.25" x 4.5".
Heh, I didn't technically have the cash to throw around, but for some reason I really want this costume to turn out amazingly - I can't remember the last time I was this *into* a specific costume. Of course, I'm also hating the fact that I don't have all the time and skill to make everything myself - I'm getting a raw foam helmet premade, having a friend 3d-print the boot rockets for me, and am modding the nerf blasters, for instance. There will still be parts of my own 'junk build' style, but I actually feel guilty about using things made by others!
