The Definitive CW Arrow Thread

hello, I need help with the hood, you have the measures to be followed because I have already made two but are not fully satisfied with the shape when worn.

thank you

Hey so I posted this in The WTB thread but no luck yet, Im looking for someone to make a set of Season 1 Bow Limbs that would be Con-Safe. Preferably in Canada, but Im not that picky lol. Thanks

I am not exactly sure, but I did find a good canvas fabric that looks pretty darn close.

Hey guys, this thread has been amazing. I've been wanting to work on an Arrow cosplay for awhile now and am just about to get started. Originally though, I wanted to start from scratch, but after browsing every page in this thread, I've come to the conclusion that unless you have access to a leathersmith and a good chunk of disposable income like Primrodo seems to have, that starting from scratch may not be the best idea.

It seems like most people here have just purchased one of the pre-made costumes you can get online and modified it. So I guess that's my question: is that what everyone has done? I've seen some great cosplays in this thread so I'm just curious. Thanks!

HA! I do not by FAR have a disposable income! It is also not required to have one for the leather suits. I have been working with this leather company for 7 months to get every detail as close as possible to the actual suit and then will be offering to everyone at around $500. It will be fully leather and stretch knit and excellent detailing and much more authentic compared to the vinyl suits....

But you don't need to have a high paying job to get one, or a bunch of money saved up!

So far MOST have used the China made vinyl costumes with little modifying, a couple have fully modded them out, but by season 3 we will have leather suits!

I finally stopped modding mine after I realized I'd probably end up getting one of Prim's suits.

If you don't have the cash for the leather suit, a fully modded vinyl one with correct zips, stretch panels, etc. will more than likely be showing up for sale in the near future.

Haha I appreciate the fast reply! As much as I'd LOVE to put myself on the waiting list for one of your suits (which truly do look awesome and 10 times better than the China made ones), I know it'll be a long time before I have $500 extra dollars I can spend. But trust me, I want one and will be investing in one eventually.

But for right now, I feel like modding one of the China suits is my best option. My end goal is to basically tear it apart and make it as authentic as possible (to a certain extent), but since this is basically my first cosplay, I realize I need to build a skill set first. I have a friend helping me modify my suit once it comes in. From what I've seen, putting in a lot of work can make them look awesome.

I guess I'm hoping this is the best route for a beginner.

Also, does anyone have a link to buying the Sea Dog brass hinges for the S1 bow? I can't find them online anywhere. Thanks!

You can for sure. The only thing I would say is to add up what time and materials will cost you to modify the suit. Its not a simple jacket and pants and has a number of things to do to it to make right, including recolouring, materials, ripping it all apart and putting it back etc.

Quick question about season 1 bow's Limbs: Do they come in pair or do I have to buy two of them separately?

Question for people who have the season 1 Ragim bow: Is it functional? I mean, has anyone used it for actual archery, being that it's a youth bow? I wanted a bow that would work for the costume AND be functional, so I bought a bow for my size but I don't like it and it's too big so I was thinking about exchanging it for the Ragim bow

It's a fully functional bow, but the weights are meant for a kid for sure.

I have fired mine a number of times and it's pretty fun!
