The CW's Arrow

Yeah I still watch the Flash, but that's not exactly bringing laurel back. If the story makes her go to team arrow, put felicity in her place, which is supporting cast as tech girl like she was in the beginning, and they start the Laurel/Oliver thing, maybe I'll start watching again. Otherwise it's just not interesting enough on its own anymore for me to take time watching it when there is so so many other shows to watch.
 
Obvious spoilers ahead for the season finale.

I think the fact that this topic didn't immediately jump to the top of the forum really speaks to how far the show has fallen. I didn't get to watch it until this evening (24 hours post air time) but my friend informed me earlier today that the entire subreddit dedicated to the show basically said, "Let's all watch Daredevil over the summer and talk about that, since that's what this show should have been."

It sounds to me like everyone is missing the first two seasons of arrow, when it was very grounded and felt manageable. Which is why I'm surprised that so many people disliked the show's finale. It looks like next season, at least for starters, we'll be getting back to good ol' Oliver Queen keeping the bad guys at bay, with just with a brighter costume. Which sounds great to me! Heck, I'd love it if The Flash's actions in saving his mother spill over into this show somehow. Switch things up, you know? I am good with this finale. It wasn't phenomenal, since the end of Dahrk felt like a stretch and the whole team being filled with broken angst. I am satisfied, though. Maybe I am alone here? What did everyone else think of the finale?

And by "everyone else," I mean those who haven't shook their heads and moved on from it...
 
I haven't participated in this thread because I was always at least two or three episodes behind the one that was actually airing, but I finally finished the last few episodes over the weekend and it's a damn shame to see how far this show has fallen. I absolutely loved the first two seasons as much as any show I've ever watched, but season three was a big drop in quality and this season was unabashed garbage. They turned a once great action/superhero show into a nighttime soap opera and made it so bad that I don't know if I even want to watch next season.

It kinda reminds me of what happened with 24. The first five seasons were amazing and then season six was a train wreck and the show never recovered after that. The worst part here is that we only got two good seasons of Arrow before it went in the toilet. :cry

To me that ending basically said, "okay, you can go ahead and cancel us now, we wrapped up everything"
 
Was anyone else reminded of the sound of drums / last of the time lords?

Our hero suddenly becomes more powerful than the god like villain because people believe in him?

I know there are probably some people that watch arrow but not flash, so I cant imagine it going down well with them if something in a show they dont watch changes what happens in theirs..

First two episodes have been pretty solid so far. Angst only required for real stuff - Quentin. Everyone doing their bit. The new team.

Enjoyed them both. The choreography is pretty brutal this year.
 
The first one looked more like a welding mask it only covered the front of his head

Love Digg's new helmet design... Except for the lights inside that illuminate his face.

It's stupid on two fronts. 1) The purpose of the helmet is to conceal his identity. Why light up his face for the world to see? 2) From a practical standpoint, the lights would diminish his field of vision.

Also, that reveal at the end with Quentin? Did NOT see that coming...
 
I don't think it was a reveal. I think it was him looking at the star like WTF is that? It was a deliberate mislead IMO.

I think he's being set up. Mainly because he doesn't have the skill set necessary. He's been drinking non stop. He could black out drunk, but no black out to the point of being able to do all that.

Gotta be either the new DA or new detective.

Could be, but they also showed him with the exact same slash on his arm that Prometheus got fighting Artemis, so even if Prometheus is setting Lance up, a simple blood test would reveal the deception.
 
Where in the world did he supposedly get all this training (in a 3 month span mind you) to the point he can do it while drunk? There were enough bottles in the apt to start a liquor store.

furthermore, why would he need to track down Olliver? or draw him out? He knows right where to find him?
 
If the writers intend to write Lance as actually being Prometheus they're going to have a LOT of explaining to do about how, why, when, and why some more.

I was starting to wonder if he wasn't some future version, or maybe some alternatie earth version of Oliver himself. Like Oliver from Earth 19 or something. He was fighting like Oliver on the train, and he knew he got hit with an explosive arrow.

I just don't see it being Lance without some very crazy explainin' goin' on.

I'm not certain they will be able to explain it satisfactorily, but by god, he definitely has the motivation in there deep rooted.

First Oliver takes his youngest daughter to her "death" at sea, he then returns from the dead - Sara does not. This also breaks his eldest daughters heart, as she lost both her sister, boyfriend, and was betrayed. So Quentin has a failed relationship, a dead daughter and a broken hearted one, and is an alcoholic.

Then his youngest daughter returns from the dead. Sweet *****. And then, due again to being in the presence of Oliver, he loses his eldest daughter, AND his youngest daughter is off in the timestream - it's not like she is popping home to say hello much.

Not to mention he carries out activities that put his job and livelihood at risk, before Quentin came in on the team.

Oliver is responsible for a lot of what happened to Quentin over the years.

There is a lot to dredge up.

I really hope it isnt split personality/meta personality due to Flashpoint. I just feel like it's too contrived.
 
The second point is still the hardest to explain - what's with all the drawing out, hunting him down stuff then? He knows where he is, where he lives and has a key to the secret base. If he's really that pissed, what more could he possibly need? He'd be able to walk right in and end him before he knew what was going on.

Yeah theres definitely more to it.

I do quite like that the metal is made from melted down arrow heads. Pretty awesome little touch.
