The Book of Boba Fett

Go to any small town in America, and you’re going to find pockets of young people who would “fit right in” in New York or Los Angeles, but look super-weird and out of place in their little city.

Well, I assume he wouldn’t have burned it unless he was certain the kid was dead and not just missing.
I clearly understand that, it just doesn’t feel right to me in this universe

It feels fine to me as a concept, but I don’t like the execution. Like the mod shop he went to actually felt more “in-world” than the mods from the previous episode. But then they went with the weird music during the operation and it took me out of it.

There are many things that I think have been fine on paper but executed poorly.

I still think people put too much stock in the “planet that’s farthest from” quote from a disgruntled farm boy being raised by his grumpy uncle. Tatooine is a huge trade hub in the outer rim, there’s plenty of money to be made there, and the criminal infrastructure itself is a resource at this point.
Not only that, but Boba Fett was talking to the other crime houses. I don’t care where you go in the galaxy, the criminal underworld are always making a lot of money. Probably even more in places like Tatooine where their criminal activities are unchallenged.

I agree, It wouldn't bother me if the whole first season just covered his time after the Sarlacc pit and ended with him shooting Bib Fortuna and taking the throne as teased at the end of 'The Mandalorian'. Then season 2 starts and is only current events. While this wouldn't bother me personally, I know it would to others as there would be no real 'Boba Fett' as he wouldn't even get his armour until near the end of the first season. However I see this as an opportunity to really dig deep into his transformation from being a cold-hard bounty hunter to softening up and following the path of respect, if that's where the studio wants to take him. This would mean his attitude towards things in season 2 (current events) make sense and it's not like after he escaped the pit he's a completely different person to what we remember in the OT. If nothing else then hey, it's just more content. More things could also be set up in the first season that pay-off in S2, like finding out one of the sand people survived the massacre (Ideally the kid or the warrior). Thinking about it now, how cool would it be if the kid survived and just as the sand people had taught Boba their ways, he teaches the kid his ways and takes him under his wing. Boba could die after however many seasons they want to do and it could end with the kid getting his armour and ship, essentially making him the new 'Boba Fett'.

When I think more about this show, I do also wonder why it HAS to be set after Return of the Jedi. A show set more in his prime in a more interesting time-period could still work I feel. It's a large galaxy and I don't think any OT characters have to feature in it, though they could easily still have Jabba, Vader or any masked/alien creature they wanted from the OT. It could be set either before or after ESB. I understand the actor is old but I don't think it would be an issue if he had his helmet on more often (like Mando) and used his face with a little make-up or light CGI VERY SPARINGLY. I reckon they could make a more interesting story that shows him as a kind of anti-hero, neither for the rebellion or the empire but only acting in his own self interest, something that could later change and would essentially be his character arc.

Just random ideas that came into my head.
I think he’s going to continue to feature in more Mandoverse stuff and they want him firmly set up where he’s at so he can dip in for cameos or certain episodes without more explanation.

Is that a Skeleton riding a large er... Shroom ?
Not quite, it actually looks like this in the daylight

But you’re forgiven for your hallucination because it’s next to the coolest 10 foot tall Beetlejuice Halloween blowup ever!!! (Although for some reason my wife doesn’t think so. Go figure.)

Know im probably gonna come off as a whiny bitch, but anyone wanna talk more about this gem of a scene?

Slave I completely defying gravity as she backs out of the Sarlacc flying no different than if in space..
Forgive me, but if I physically flipped the Millennium Falcon 180° on its roof, while in atmosphere under gravity.. would you think I’d be able to hop in and fly her out no problem? Or would I be calling a Tow truck?

Im voting Tow truck.. tbh im surprised they didn’t make that scene given it happened to Mando and the Razor Crest

Also i think I found a error on their 3d model??
In the closeup theres nothing jutting out the back, but in the pulled back shot it looks like half a sizemic charge is sticking out??
I still hate how it’s physically EII Slave I inside too instead of ESB

Or at least that Boba thinks he is. He might be, or might not.

Yes, but I worry this is how we get disappointed. Creating “What ifs” based on stuff meant to convey something else. It totally could be that some Tusken survived and it’s set up to mislead us for a surprising reveal. However, especially after this last episode where he explicitly stated how they changed him (the line about making him stronger and needing a tribe), I’m considering the Tusken storyline done. It felt like a good conclusion with him explaining their importance to him.

To be fair, I know creating theories and discussing “What ifs” is what makes this discussion fun. I guess I’m just trying to temper expectations for myself at least. This show has been uneven, and Ive already been bitten by trying to explain confusing writing through some larger explanation. So I’m now trying to take the show week by week.

I hope I’m wrong and there are some surprises from stuff set up earlier in the show.

I thought the same thing- how is Slave 1 going up if the thrusters are pointing down?
