The Book of Boba Fett

To me the animated series is a totally different experience on its own

Like how can I explain it.. with mando I think everything worked and flowed awesome

If they had times in mando where they played this techno stuff I don’t think it would have worked there either..

To me. And who the hell says I’m right about anything lol, to me it doesn’t feel right what so ever

Just speaking for myself, the music, in this context, didn't bother me in the least. The music is supposed to be different and out of place. The mod parlor is, like, youth counterculture. A whole different subset of society. It makes sense that the music would be different, too.
Yeah I get that, but i can’t connect with it what do ever

The cloths.. the bikes.. doesn’t feel like it would be on tatoonie for me..

I don’t think It would stand out this much if it was on coruscant.. heck the costumes I think could even work on Naboo, they have that tuxedo feel to them

But on tatoonie it just looks and feels weird to me

While there are certainly some issues in the details, at this point my major complaint is the herky jerky pacing.

The show is just lurching along, sometimes in quick spurts and sometimes at a crawl. Some aspects have been seemingly drawn out way longer than they should be and others have only been touched upon. So much of this backstory probably should’ve been resolved in the first episode or two. Either that or just fully embrace the flashbacks and make them comprise the entire season. Then season 2 is set up for “current events”.

It’s an odd hodgepodge that somehow feels both too much and not enough all at once. 4 episodes in, I agree with the opinion that this all feels like it was slapped together under a time crunch and ideas weren’t quite allowed to mature. It’s not horrible but a good percentage feels halfbaked.

That there been rumors of a season 2?

This show's a mess tonally.

The storytelling is off and the action is pedestrian at best. Between the power rangers showing up, Boba constantly removing his helmet and talking every other scene, cartoon cgi chases and techno music, I keep asking myself who is this made for?

Feels a bit of a let down that his arch is to just be a nice crime boss....ok. This show just feels like it's riding the coat tails off of the Mandalorian's success.

“Trying” to ride, I feel like I’m thrown off a bantha 3/4 times each episode lol ;)

I’m not sure if season 2 is confirmed or not. I will concede that’s likely why they decided to go with this flashback/current events combo, just in case there wasn’t a season 2. It seems they arrived at an unhappy median though, where neither thus far has been entirely satisfying.
I read this was a 1 time series, but wondering now if that has changed

I never liked the bunny droid design, but it was kinda fun to see it in live action.
I know everyone picked on the action from the Abduction episode of Mandalorian, but oof. That feels like some John Woo stuff compared to this show.

Yeah it was corny but I didn’t mind the kitchen scene. I can understand that the bunny droid is probably too cute for some but I wasn’t too bothered by any of it.

I am glad that you brought that up, since only the oldest RPF members may be able to remember that particular counterculture, "The Mods".

I did find it a bit corny though, making them "rebel" against society by including modifications into their looks, but it did help me understand what the creatives probably meant to add to the show with that group of youngsters. The Kintan Striders as "The Rockers" and the Mods as "The Mods" is probably going to be explored later on. QUADROPHENIA!

I guess me, my only issues with the show is it might have been better to be in chronological order, but other than that I've enjoyed it so far. This and Mando are the best Star Wars they've ever done. I also don't care about the EU or have expectations about who Boba should be from the ESB though, so maybe that's why I can enjoy it.

O my god...the rabbit robot..."Do you know who I am?Boba Fett!!!"-and this stupid thing shuts itself off.
I think this thing can die together with the "Gang".
But STOP....it could be also the new modern version of Jar Jar Binks!

Oh did I said that Boba Fett is talking too much? :D
Boba “Do you know who I am? Boba Fett!”

Bunny Droid “The punk bounty hunter who was taken out by a lucky shot, fed to the Sarlacc, robbed by Jawas and forced to dig for water pods? That guy?”

Go to any small town in America, and you’re going to find pockets of young people who would “fit right in” in New York or Los Angeles, but look super-weird and out of place in their little city.

Or at least that Boba thinks he is. He might be, or might not.

SSB

Well, I assume he wouldn’t have burned it unless he was certain the kid was dead and not just missing.

my son loves this show...He's 5. I'm 45. He is a child with a freed up mind. I am an adult that, maybe in some ways, has a mind that is "weathered" and has forgotten how it was to look at things through the lens of a child. I never really noticed too many funny things in the OT. Even when i was 5, Star Wars seemed serious but cool. Now i see TBOBF and there is all this funny stuff going on and the seriousness of any real meaning seems watered down. You all know by now i love humor...but I love seriousness and gravity in the overall arc of the story. Anyone else relate, or am i just wandering the Dune sea all alone without a Bantha?

A few friends and I have a discussion going of what would be the most ridiculous thing that could possibly happen in the next episodes of BOBF just to see if any of those predictions come true. That got me to thinking how should this show end?

Boba Fett should go nuts walking around Tatooine shooting everyone in sight. Then after he's finished everyone shot stands up completely unscathed, the camera zooms in to a close up where Fett takes his helmet off and says "We were just trolling you, BOBF is legends continuity. Enjoy season three of the Mandalorian."

I understand the counter culture kids better now, with their modifications, based on that parlor scene. The music just seemed odd in terms of the pacing of the scene- I liked the music itself, it just didn't seem to match the action. He was doing slow, methodical repairs (on a dying patient which everyone seemed very lackadaisical about). Appeared more appropriate for the club or a Bourne car chase.

Well, I was almost 20 when I saw ANH in '77. Never saw SW with the eyes of a young child. I feel, like many others here, that TBOBF is not that good. You have to wonder; with all of the new SFX available today that some of the effects could be better made:rolleyes:
But, as I said before: Boba Fett is not the mysterious bounty hunter he was in ROTJ. Period! I'm afraid that one day he'll go: "My name is Fett...Boba Fett:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::sleep::sleep::sleep:
