The Book of Boba Fett

My favorite line of the episode"

"The Pyke Syndicate are draining Tatooine of its wealth."

WHAT WEALTH? "If there's a bright center to the universe, you're on the planet that it's farthest from.”

Unless Bantha poodoo is a commodity I wasn't aware of.
I mean something is keeping Tatooine alive. Otherwise everyone would just pick up and leave. You wouldn't have star ports like Most Espa and Mos Eisley

I understand the counter culture kids better now, with their modifications, based on that parlor scene. The music just seemed odd in terms of the pacing of the scene- I liked the music itself, it just didn't seem to match the action. He was doing slow, methodical repairs (on a dying patient which everyone seemed very lackadaisical about). Appeared more appropriate for the club or a Bourne car chase.
I don’t disagree. Seems like the music was fine to start off with, but once the “mod artist” understood that he was saving a life, the vibe should have indeed shifted.

I don’t hate concept of The Mods (or the double entendre meaning of the name) like many others do. They’re just a SW version of Sherlock Holmes’ Baker Street Irregulars.

And the music is I believe supposed to be diegetic. That is music that come from the world that the characters can hear. As I recall you can hear it outside as Boba walks up.

Apparently, it's tourism...
"Relive the adventures of one of the Rebellion's most famous heroes—take the SKYWALKER TOUR! Journey by sail barge as your guide points out the historic places where Luke Skywalker began his rendezvous with history!"―Tatooine Visitors Bureau brochure

While there are certainly some issues in the details, at this point my major complaint is the herky jerky pacing.

The show is just lurching along, sometimes in quick spurts and sometimes at a crawl. Some aspects have been seemingly drawn out way longer than they should be and others have only been touched upon. So much of this backstory probably should’ve been resolved in the first episode or two. Either that or just fully embrace the flashbacks and make them comprise the entire season. Then season 2 is set up for “current events”.

It’s an odd hodgepodge that somehow feels both too much and not enough all at once. 4 episodes in, I agree with the opinion that this all feels like it was slapped together under a time crunch and ideas weren’t quite allowed to mature. It’s not horrible but a good percentage feels halfbaked.
I agree, It wouldn't bother me if the whole first season just covered his time after the Sarlacc pit and ended with him shooting Bib Fortuna and taking the throne as teased at the end of 'The Mandalorian'. Then season 2 starts and is only current events. While this wouldn't bother me personally, I know it would to others as there would be no real 'Boba Fett' as he wouldn't even get his armour until near the end of the first season. However I see this as an opportunity to really dig deep into his transformation from being a cold-hard bounty hunter to softening up and following the path of respect, if that's where the studio wants to take him. This would mean his attitude towards things in season 2 (current events) make sense and it's not like after he escaped the pit he's a completely different person to what we remember in the OT. If nothing else then hey, it's just more content. More things could also be set up in the first season that pay-off in S2, like finding out one of the sand people survived the massacre (Ideally the kid or the warrior). Thinking about it now, how cool would it be if the kid survived and just as the sand people had taught Boba their ways, he teaches the kid his ways and takes him under his wing. Boba could die after however many seasons they want to do and it could end with the kid getting his armour and ship, essentially making him the new 'Boba Fett'.

When I think more about this show, I do also wonder why it HAS to be set after Return of the Jedi. A show set more in his prime in a more interesting time-period could still work I feel. It's a large galaxy and I don't think any OT characters have to feature in it, though they could easily still have Jabba, Vader or any masked/alien creature they wanted from the OT. It could be set either before or after ESB. I understand the actor is old but I don't think it would be an issue if he had his helmet on more often (like Mando) and used his face with a little make-up or light CGI VERY SPARINGLY. I reckon they could make a more interesting story that shows him as a kind of anti-hero, neither for the rebellion or the empire but only acting in his own self interest, something that could later change and would essentially be his character arc.

Just random ideas that came into my head.

The Book of Boba Fett, or what he was reading.

I still think people put too much stock in the “planet that’s farthest from” quote from a disgruntled farm boy being raised by his grumpy uncle. Tatooine is a huge trade hub in the outer rim, there’s plenty of money to be made there, and the criminal infrastructure itself is a resource at this point.

Beyond whatever mining that is done, Tatooine seems to be a hub in the drug trade as well, along with whatever other illicit activities are going on. I’d say that is where Tatooine’s wealth resides. Afterall, there must be a reason why someone of Jabba’s underworld clout decided to reside there besides it being off the beaten path.

A few friends and I have a discussion going of what would be the most ridiculous thing that could possibly happen in the next episodes of BOBF just to see if any of those predictions come true. That got me to thinking how should this show end?

Boba Fett should go nuts walking around Tatooine shooting everyone in sight. Then after he's finished everyone shot stands up completely unscathed, the camera zooms in to a close up where Fett takes his helmet off and says "We were just trolling you, BOBF is legends continuity. Enjoy season three of the Mandalorian."
It was brought up before but my initial vote was that he just falls back into the sarlacc, however I guess that’s no longer on the table lol

Next runner up would be that none of this happened at all and he was just hallucinating inside the sarlacc and then dies. Lol

It's a little-known fact that Tatooine and Jakku are huge exporters of sand. Most other planets only have a little of the stuff here and there, because as we have seen, the Star Wars galaxy is all about single-biome planets. If you need sand, go to the source! Crazy Jabba'sBib's … Boba's Sandbox!

If you want sand that is coarse, rough, irritating and gets everywhere, Tatooine sand can’t be beat.
