The Book of Boba Fett

I’ll say it…there is no way that the last four episodes will make the first three more entertaining or worth rewatching. The last four might be better, but they can’t make boring, dry episodes better just because of “context”. They also might not be better, and honestly probably won’t. It’s one thing to do a “slow burn”, but TBOBF has officially worn out that excuse, especially with short episodes in a seven episode season. There’s definitely another Rodriguez episode, which means poor pacing, stiff acting, and slow action. The part that seems to me like most people were interested in, the Tuskens, was totally scrapped. Fett seems less and less like Fett with every episode, but worse still, seems less and less like a compelling character of any kind regardless of whether he existed before the show or not. This show is seriously just running on fandom and the Star Wars name. If this were a generic sci-fi show, it would have been panned so quick.

Hell yeah...too good a character to waste, maybe he's secretly working with Boba it would certainly make sense of a few things. ;)
I sure hope so.. I just think it’s funny they never fired anyone for it, just some random dude that works there already

The truth is, we all probably would have written this out a lot differently because every single one of us , including myself, feel much better when we can sit back and play monday morning QB and critique what is and swap it out for our own grandiosity. I'm guilty. The Tragedy by Rodriguez showed a very cool Boba. I heard barely any complaints about it. Sure...i didn't like the forgetting the jetpack thing...so what. As far as Boba was concerned, it was awesome. Now all of a sudden we are plugging Rodriguez into a mathematical equation that equates him with failure? Sorry, but that is a stretch and it's " not seeing the good" that he's done. TBOBF ep1 and 3 were not as good as 2...most of us agree. But most everyone was flying high after 2. Now we are ready to throw in the towel? How can we dare point our finger at a director as being incompetent, over his head and a failure if we as fans, can't go three episodes without wanting a divorce? My goodness!!! Especially, when he didn't write the darn thing. Btw, inside I'm trying to stay patient as much as you. It's not that i disagree with the whats wrong part. We have stuck with FAVREAU this whole time...He is the writer, not Rodriguez. Favreau has done wonderful episodes for Star Wars and has PROVEN he knows what he's doing. We aren't going to love everything, i agree. I'm not trying to convince you to agree with me, but to let it play out...it can't hurt. Let's give these guys a chance to finish the race and be thankful for what they've brought to us as fans. The same guy who brought us the OT, which i love, brought us the PT, which i do not. I'm not gonna say Lucas is terrible when if he didn't bring us something, we would have nothing to complain about at all. I Love Mando but it has it's flaws and because he is new to us, we gave the show a lot of grace. Because we know of Boba already we are more critical...just our nature as humans. To give this a chance goes beyond our natural rationale..I'll give you that, but I'm not going to suggest something to you that I'm not willing to try myself. Like in a relationship, the way we approach adversity determines if we will burn a bridge or build one. Im willing to say i could be 100% wrong. Im just willing to error on the side of patience. It's a very hard thing to do...lol, especially for a very impatient person like me. If 4 is terrible, I won't post another word on this thread but an admission and/ or apology for wasting your time and given foolish advice and propagating false expectations.

Apology accepted, in advance. Lol.

To be fair Carey Jones has experience in creature performance as far back as Predators. Looks like he was hired based on that not b/c he happened to be there.
Doesn’t look like he has any makeup or FX credits on this show .

Well this sheds some light in it. I was told this was a sound stage guy from production they threw in the suit

In the "history" of the character, the "brass knuckles" are surgically implanted before he's sent to be a gladiator. They can't be removed.

But that's exposition the viewer wouldn't know. :)
Fair enough, thank you for pointing that out. I assume that was covered in one of the comics that I did not read. I'm guessing Doctor Aphra. I've skipped much of her story as I'm not really keen on her character.

It's a bullsh1t question to ask the actors in the first place. They didn't create/write/produce/create concept art/design the vehicles/creatures/costumes the list goes on. They show up say their lines, hit their marks and get payed and get the f00ck out.

You ask that question the writer/creator JF and director RR and pray they will ever give you another interview in the future. It should be legal for actors to b1tch slap interviewers when they ask loaded questions.
So even as a VERY local actor near St. Louis, interviews have historically been full of loaded questions. Every single time (over a dozen individual interviews) for radio or newspaper articles, the reporters have asked loaded questions. The most recent one was a phone call, and the female reporter asked maybe 5 or 6 general questions about a show, then started saying things like “okay, so now let’s talk about issues you encountered during the process.” Or even specifically asking “how does [parent company] not support you during a show, what would tell them to change?” I can’t recall all of them, but it’s traditionally been a few questions to ease you into the interviews, and then the remaining battery of questions suggests a negative vibe.

I think the mentality is to get someone to say something negative because it can cause friction, and in turn either make a really good first article, or suggest the potential of a second, third, etc. set of follow-up articles, that have some sort of response and eventual apology.

Plus, people like reading about conflict. It’s juicy details that get noticed, and every single time these interviews have singled out on set or creative differences. My responses are always genuine, but at the same time, I’m not going to tell you how incompetent stage managers or the extras are, etc. Every single time there has been high pressure on me to defend myself, but also the institutions I represent.

I couldn’t imagine doing it at the Disney level with multiple interviews a day.

Usagi Pilgrim sent me the quote

"A few fans also took umbrage with the gang of cybernetic street toughs who find work as Boba’s new muscle. Most of the backlash seems to be directed toward their vehicles of choice: a fleet of brightly-colored hover-bikes that look an awful lot like Vespa scooters. However, Morrison doesn’t seem affected by this reaction.

“Some of these things are out of our control,” added Morrison. “We can’t say as performers, ‘We don’t want to work with these people, that’s not good enough’ … They brought a lot of color to it, I thought … they were great, were working hard.”"

Pretty revealing that he went that route. Doesn't sound like he was overly liking the idea but he couldn't say that and he's right...you don't ask questions as to why the writer decided to write it in and then say you reject their idea as an actor and then refuse to be filmed with them. Tem knows a lot about Star Wars...a lot. He's outspoken and a straight shooter. You really think he'd take this role if he thought in the end his character would be knitting socks in a nursing home and forever be associated with tarnishing a legend? I don't and i really think these guys respect the legacy characters.
The article also mentions her saying GL loved his 50's and 60's hotrod stuff as a (very weak) defense. That's true, but, he integrated that belief into SW already with TPM's pod racer subplot. Whether you liked the podracer stuff, it fit visually - perfectly. The 'Space Vespas' do not fit, nor do their riders. The words bright, shiny, and brand new do not fit tatooine in any way. Not sure they'd fit on Coruscant either. I'm not sure we saw bright shiny vibrant colors like that in the ships of tatooine either during the prequels. As for their riders, the whole concept seemed to come from someone who really liked Cyberpunk 2077. (i'm sure other games used the concept big time like that, but i'm not aware of any personally). We've seen 30ish before this timeframe and nearly 30 years after - I don't recall any cybernetic characters in the whole thing other than maybe Lobot.

Now, maybe we get a flashback where they are a planet where that fits and they get sent to tatooine for a specific reason, I don't know, but it's not an aesthetic that fits remotely with tatooine at all. You'd think anyone affiliated with the show or eve LFL would know that.
