Alright, alright…I’ll do it.Would have loved to see jodo in this series.. fett trained by the tuskins, then realizes there is someone out their pretending to be him and hunts him down
Bless you! Finally something good to watch!Alright, alright…I’ll do it.
Different training and life experiences. Also, one has the doubled maturation and accelerated ageing, while the other does not.If the imposter's a Jango clone would it make any difference he wasn't the real Boba.. same person really, same abilities and a 'born killer'
9-year-old Boba would have been too small for Jango's armor. He might have worn it briefly in his teens, but -- probably due to better diet and medical care in his developmental years on Kamino -- as an adult, Boba's several inches taller than his father/donor. Boba's armor -- in ESB or ROTJ -- is a larger size, the helmet's larger and a different shape, several pieces have more material, and he's lacking Jango's thigh, shin, and boot armor whilst adding a piece to connect to the larger groin armor that Jango's lacked. The only way it could be remotely the same suit is if Boba melted Jango's down, Armorer-style, and had a new, larger suit cast out of the metal. At which point, it's not really the same suit.why would real Boba dump his dad's armor after getting his new armor?
or how did he lose it and the imposter gets a hold of it ?
If Boba's out in the galaxy doing his thing, it might take a while for word to reach him about these odd goings-on on a Hutt-controlled backwater the Empire never gave much of a damn about. Meanwhile, most people on Tatooine aren't going to know much about what's happening out in the galaxy beyond what they see on the holonet -- those that even have access to the holonet, that is. Some in criminal circles will likely have heard of Boba Fett, have a sense of what he looks like, but have no way of checking up that the guy kicking around Jabba's palace isn't also out scoring bounties three parsecs away. And why would they even think to check something like that?surely his reputation precedes him if the real Boba's not gone into hiding and people would soon learn he has a new look if he's continuing to bounty hunt?.. wouldn't Jabba know that?.. unless maybe he didn't think it made any difference
details.. details.. but interesting idea
I've talked with Andy Mangels about that on occasion, actually.I think they should just cut their losses and not try to do anything with it, BUT there is precedent for a Boba imposter in Jodo Kast from the old EU.
I know. I still say this would be a much smaller leap that the retconning of Luke and Leia or the timeline prior to ANH.Just because there's previous EU content (which Lucasfilm has made every attempt to invalidate) doesn't mean that it's what's occurring in TBOBF or that going that route would necessarily be a good idea.
Exactly. There's an out, given how lackluster this series was in execution. But I also don't trust them to not boof it again if they were to take that out.Lucasfilm has a reputation for fan service, retcons, needless rehashing and caving to fan desires which often ruins their new content. If they were to do "imposter" Fett it would be all of those things yet again and open up the exact same can of worms we had with TBOBF. Chances are they'd fail with his character a second time and make the situation worse. I wouldn't entirely put it past them to somehow try to backpedal with Fett to attempt to fix the mess they made though. I don't see nearly enough evidence in the show itself that he wasn't intended to be the "real" Fett or that a misdirect was occurring. I see a hopeful fan theory that comes from TBOBF not delivering upon expectations.
That one. I toss this stuff out onto the table in hopes something good might come of it, but the truth is I don't trust the Story Group to open a can of sardines that's already open.As much as it would be awesome to have a well written Fett that's true to our idea of who he is, it's likely not going to happen with current Lucasfilm. That's part of the reason it's far better to leave OT characters alone. They also have four decades of baggage, expectations and content associated with them.
I do think Daniel Logan looks different enough that they could conceivably pull off him playing a different character like Jodo Kast. Maybe it just so happens that Fett as a kid kinda looks like Kast as an adult. Lol!
Just wait until Grogus rescue during Order 66 is explained in Obi-Wan Kenobi. They want that Grogu action anywhere they can get it.Imagine the folks that loved Mando, but decided not to watch BOBF. They watch the emotional finale of Mando Season 2, then the 1st episode of Mando Season 3 with Grogu back and they're like "Whaaa...?"
I said he could play a character *like* Jodo Kast but even if they did decide to portray him directly, I wouldn't assume Disney would necessarily feel beholden to any prior depiction of him. Heck, Disney's own live action Ariel of The Little Mermaid fame has gone from a blue eyed, red head to a POC. They could easily go with a "reimagining" of the character if they decided to bring him into the live action Disney canon fold. If so, Daniel Logan could potentially be an interesting twist. Or they could dye his hair blonde and say it was close enough. LolKast as an adult has dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and very Caucasian skin tones. What are you smoking, my friend?

I've fancast Macaulay Culkin as Jodo Kast for years, personally.
Splash7 I'm inWatching episodes of fringe again, and during a scene with Leonard Nimoy I had to ‘freeze and augment’ (thanks interwebs).
imagine the comments after this on therpf.alternet

now back to the topic of the thread
I think they see Grogu as their SW Mikey Mouse..Just wait until Grogus rescue during Order 66 is explained in Obi-Wan Kenobi. They want that Grogu action anywhere they can get it.
Anytime I go to Disneyland I come away with two big reminders
It reminds if the scene in Spaceballs. “Merchandise, merchandise, merchandise!” “Spaceballs the breakfast cereal, Spaceballs the flamethrower!”
- Disney is still all-in on theming everything with the ST
- They love selling Grogu merchandise
Sadly, I think they are going to push for more Grogu across the board. No matter if it fits or not, and its going to create weird scenarios like we git with BoBF.
I mean Grogu’s certainly got the ears, er… credentials, for itI think they see Grogu as their SW Mikey Mouse..

If only we had someone that already looks like that, and even goes by Jodo on every forum. If only.Kast as an adult has dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and very Caucasian skin tones. What are you smoking, my friend?

That’s different, oddly enough I can see that workingDifferent training and life experiences. Also, one has the doubled maturation and accelerated ageing, while the other does not.

Cobb Vanth is about Boba's size (OT Boba, that is) and that armor was way too small on him, since it was sized for Tem. Something similar in-universe could happen -- Spar or Bossk get some Mando style armor, paint it similarly to Boba, and dress him in it.
If Boba's out in the galaxy doing his thing, it might take a while for word to reach him about these odd goings-on on a Hutt-controlled backwater the Empire never gave much of a damn about. I've talked with Andy Mangels about that on occasion, actually. With all of the "certain point of view" EU inclusions in the new canon, he's guardedly hopeful.

If DL does Ever play BF again it would feel wrong IMO for him to play a fake version of who he Actually played in the first place..What I think could be interesting about Daniel Logan playing a 'Fake Fett' is if the storyline was that 'somehow' he was a failed Clone from Kamino that 'somehow' was taken off-planet (by someone) and not trained as a regular Clone. The failure in his cloning could be why he looks more like young Boba and not adult Fett/Clones. Maybe he remembers being on Kamino and we get flashbacks. Then he either comes across Mando armor, or makes his own out of Durasteel and not Beskar, and is pretending to be Boba Fett to get work.
