I had a thought about the hand-to-hand fighting by Boba Fett in BOBF.

Temuera Morrison is currently 61 years old, and the fighting in the show was pretty weak but I don't think it's because of his age.

I saw the trailer for the new Liam Neeson movie 'Blacklight' on TV and Liam looks like he's still kicking some serious butt in his new movie and currently he's 69 years old. Liam Neeson was 55 in 2008 in 'Taken', 57 in 2010 for 'The A-Team', and 59 in 2012 for 'Taken 2'. In all of those Liam Neeson movies he does a good amount of hand-to-hand fighting and it's more-or-less believable but also fast-paced and intense.

I think the difference between Temuera Morrison in BOBF and Liam Neeson in his action movies is Liam Neeson's movies have better fight chorography, better camera angles, better cuts and editing, faster pacing, etc...
TV shows have a smaller budget and tighter time frame to make them..
Just because its Disney doesn't mean its going to be any good.

It was by All accounts a Shoe Horn of a show whilst Pedro decided or wanted to continue as Mando..
Maybe Disney were using Tem as leverage saying they could go Boba if Pedro wouldn’t sign..
We don't or will never know the backstory but the biggest issue was the Story...

I've watched better Rick and Morty Episodes..

The idea that the Boba Fett in this show is just a clone pretending to be Boba Fett would be entirely a retcon. If Lucasfilm were to actually go through with that it would simply be because fans hated TBOBF, not because it was intended to be that way from the beginning. Any justification would be complete BS and fans that bought it would do so because they want it to be true and what they got in TBOBF was unacceptable. Lucasfilm would be still doing some of the major things that causes them to often produce crappy content, retconning and caving to perceived fan wants over story.

Let’s call it what it is. TBOBF was two kids, Jon and Dave in the sandbox playing with their dolls and having a big adventure.

The only difference is that in this sand box, their dad (the mouse) had enough money to get them all of the play sets and ships to make their adventure grand.

But they got called in early by mom for an afternoon nap and promptly forgot what they were playing with...

Honestly was disappointed by the show. Perhaps it was my concept of what a Boba Fett show should be clashing with what it was. I was looking for a show about crime families but instead it was half flashback and the rest revolving around everyone but Boba Fett.

Except the "maybe he was an imposter...?" notion is one that's been floating around since the '80s to rationalize how different Boba looked and acted in ROTJ versus ESB. "Empire Boba would never have gotten taken out like a punk!" and so forth. That, along with Kirk versus Picard and the Enterprise (any of 'em) versus a Star Destroyer, was one of the first things debated as soon as there was something resembling an internet, and those were an outgrowth of show-floor arguments at conventions that were already a thing.

The EU originally had Boba a veteran of the Clone Wars OR just some guy who swiped the armor from somewhere OR a Mandalorian who cobbled the armor together after being exiled OR... When AOTC came out, it rocked everyone back a bit. Spar, the deranged clone trooper, was created to explain Boba being an adult fighting in the Clone Wars. And Boba's backstory became a streamlined version of what it had been: After Jango died, Boba made his way to Concord Dawn and became a Protector, but was exiled and became a bounty hunter. Then Clone Wars came out and we got the addition of Boba trying to work with some of the bounty hunters his dad had known, before he ultimately ended up on his own after they all screwed him over a few times. From the last time we saw Boba in Clone Wars -- hogtied and stuffed in a trunk by Ventress -- I cannot see him trying to work with a crew any more. The rest of his EU backstory still works: Sometime after the Clone Wars, he makes his way to Concord Dawn and tries to have a normal life, but Stuff Happens™ and he leaves again, with his new armor (not his dad's, recycled), and falls back on what he knows -- bounty hunting. But on his own this time. As we saw him in the Holiday Special and in ESB.

Everything about ROTJ Boba has never fit that, and Spar makes so much sense, there. And it wouldn't be unprecedented. A good portion of EU content has made it into canon in the last decade, often tweaked a bit "from a certain point of view". Thrawn now always commanded the Chimæra, rather than picking it as the best candidate when he returned post-ROTJ, for instance. Every time I've suggested the "imposter-Boba" notion to someone when discussing things that felt off in ROTJ over the last thirty years, they've all said variations on "oooh, yeah -- that would make sense!". It would be one of the softest retcons so far, IMO, as it's been floating around the fandom zeitgeist for decades.

OK, its growing on me
But.. just a few thoughts..
If the imposter's a Jango clone would it make any difference he wasn't the real Boba.. same person really, same abilities and a 'born killer'
why would real Boba dump his dad's armor after getting his new armor?
or how did he lose it and the imposter gets a hold of it ?
surely his reputation precedes him if the real Boba's not gone into hiding and people would soon learn he has a new look if he's continuing to bounty hunt?.. wouldn't Jabba know that?.. unless maybe he didn't think it made any difference
details.. details.. but interesting idea

Some of the EU Boba Fett stories and certain EU additions to canon have been really cool. And yes I remember the imposter notion going way back. Just because there's previous EU content (which Lucasfilm has made every attempt to invalidate) doesn't mean that it's what's occurring in TBOBF or that going that route would necessarily be a good idea.

Lucasfilm has a reputation for fan service, retcons, needless rehashing and caving to fan desires which often ruins their new content. If they were to do "imposter" Fett it would be all of those things yet again and open up the exact same can of worms we had with TBOBF. Chances are they'd fail with his character a second time and make the situation worse. I wouldn't entirely put it past them to somehow try to backpedal with Fett to attempt to fix the mess they made though. I don't see nearly enough evidence in the show itself that he wasn't intended to be the "real" Fett or that a misdirect was occurring. I see a hopeful fan theory that comes from TBOBF not delivering upon expectations.

As much as it would be awesome to have a well written Fett that's true to our idea of who he is, it's likely not going to happen with current Lucasfilm. That's part of the reason it's far better to leave OT characters alone. They also have four decades of baggage, expectations and content associated with them.

Its Dread Pirate Roberts syndrome All over again...
"Giveth the Armour maketh the Man"..
Or was that the Legends of King Arthur but you get my point..

Or....

"If they had made the Movie like they were originally going to
It might have turned out better for it.."
A straight up Western filmed with Soft Wide Angle Panovision lenses
No flashbacks in fact keep it ambiguous when in time it is..

Scene one..
A lone dusty stranger wanders into Toshi Station and walks into a bar..
Boba: I hear there's Trash needs taking out ?
The bartender points towards
Ex Stormtroopers beating on civilians
Woman: You have no jurisdiction here!
Trooper: shut your mouth rebel sympathisers!
Boba: Pew! Pew!..Turns picks up his bounty and leaves..

Scene 2
Outside the bar a lone Cad Bane stands..

Bane: Well well well if it isnt Boba Fett.. You are treading on my territory Boy!
Boba whistles and IG88 appears menacingly from a doorway, Boba whistles Again and Dengar who was maskerading as an old rodian throws off his disguise to reveal guns akimbo!
Bane: looks like the boy I wipped is now quite The Man..

Draw!

Boba: A proposal, there's a garrison near here wanted for war crimes, a truce and offer of work until this is All over ?
Bane ponders rolling his pick from one side of his mouth to the other then spits it out!
Bane: I except... till the jobs done then.
Boba: Indeed..

I'd watch that..

^^
Ab-so-lu-te-ly(y)(y) We saw that in the fight choreography in the Prequel! Very fast, complicated and well cut/put together.
In the BOBF, it seems that the whole thing feels lazy and slow...specially knowing his reputation/aura in ESB/ROTJ.

But in Mando he was pretty darn quick..or better director?

Temura looks at Mandy Patinkin...."so, how would you like to be the next Boba Fett?"

I do think Daniel Logan looks different enough that they could conceivably pull off him playing a different character like Jodo Kast. Maybe it just so happens that Fett as a kid kinda looks like Kast as an adult. Lol!
