You know, reading the last page, it brought up something I had been thinking about for a while…Why does Fett even care? He refers to Mos Eisley as “his town” and the people are “his,” but why? Because he almost died near by? The Tuskens sure didn’t influence him to live in the city. There’s no real connection between Fett and the planet, generally, and we don’t really see anything that would motivate him to take up this mantle otherwise, specifically for this town.
Legitimately, if we were playing off the existing marshal characters (Cobb and Cara Dune being offered a similar role), and Boba is trying to turn his life around, why focus on Fett wanting to be a crime lord, when becoming Marshal of Tatooine would make more sense? They could still have him do many of these same overarching beats that were featured in the show even, and it would better align with the character’s goals, if that were the case.
It just seems like a weird arbitrary thing for him to do, and given he is telling people that he is a crime lord now, you’d think we would see him do or organize some crime. Instead, he’s effectively became this sheriff persona for the townspeople. I don’t think that’s even a bad thing, but they’ve really centered us around Fett being this bad AF dude, who is going to be a crime boss, and all we see him do is be super nice to animals and stop any crime that he encounters.
Sounds more like a Marshal to me!
