The Book of Boba Fett

You know, reading the last page, it brought up something I had been thinking about for a while…Why does Fett even care? He refers to Mos Eisley as “his town” and the people are “his,” but why? Because he almost died near by? The Tuskens sure didn’t influence him to live in the city. There’s no real connection between Fett and the planet, generally, and we don’t really see anything that would motivate him to take up this mantle otherwise, specifically for this town.

Legitimately, if we were playing off the existing marshal characters (Cobb and Cara Dune being offered a similar role), and Boba is trying to turn his life around, why focus on Fett wanting to be a crime lord, when becoming Marshal of Tatooine would make more sense? They could still have him do many of these same overarching beats that were featured in the show even, and it would better align with the character’s goals, if that were the case.

It just seems like a weird arbitrary thing for him to do, and given he is telling people that he is a crime lord now, you’d think we would see him do or organize some crime. Instead, he’s effectively became this sheriff persona for the townspeople. I don’t think that’s even a bad thing, but they’ve really centered us around Fett being this bad AF dude, who is going to be a crime boss, and all we see him do is be super nice to animals and stop any crime that he encounters.

Sounds more like a Marshal to me!
Maybe with Cara Dune gone Fett is being positioned for the new lead of the "Marshalls of the New Republic" series...

And its not the first person to don the suit either...

Heres a thought... Cobb Vanth was im guessing a native of Tatooine, so he must have been aware of both Jabba And... Fett, by that reasoning did he aquire the Armour from the Jawas who incidentally may have have Also known him to strike fear into the lawless in Free Town ?
If he was The most Feared Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy the costume would surely be a recognisable one..
So you're assuming because he's the most feared bounty hunter... Cobb knows what he looks like. Do you know what "Carlos the Jackal" looked like? He was one of the most feared terrorists on our planet for a time. What about Carlos Hathcock? He was the most feared US sniper in Asia, but could you pick him out of a lineup at the police station? Just because a name is famous, doesn't mean everybody knows him. It's Tatooine... not the bar Cheers. (^_^)

didn’t the jackal look like Richard geer? Or was it Bruce Willis?

Anyway, I do get your point.

I do also see YOUR point. But I think "classic" Boba would be more like Jango, and work from the shadows and not have his face plastered on a bulletin board. He'd be a name to scare small children into going to sleep, and less painted on the side of a hover truck. Kind of like the Equilizer actually. "If you have a bounty to disintegrate, capture or kill, and nobody else can help, Call Fett. Galactic Core Hunters Guild #19781117"

Lol I didn't really have a point and the only reason I even know there was a Jackal was due to that movie..... maybe that's the point(I have no idea) . Didn't mean to derail your take on it the name/visual recognition point because I do agree with you

LOL, no derail and no worries! It's all good! This is all just speculative fiction for us anyway because I'm not Filoni and I'm pretty sure you're not Favreau. Or... are you...?

No th

No thats What I was asking.

And..
Carlos I believe didn't really wear a Jackal mask .... it might have found him easier to spot ;)
Oh I think he was more a gun for hire than a terrorist..

LOL, true story! :D

Since his actions were indiscriminate (I mean, really, a grenade is not the usual tool for an assassination...), and resulted in causing "terror"
I think the term "terrorist" fits. But then technically, Princess Leia's merry band of Rebels could have been considered terrorists too... by the Empire. :)

I get your point but it does seem like a lot of peeps in the SW Universe know what Mandalorians look like and with whats been happening on BOBF it seems to have shrunk Tatooine...its the only excuse with how quickly they get from Jabbas to Mos Espa to the...you get my point.
So if Jabba had a Litter its a strong possibility that his Bounty Hunters might be there and if not known by name but by sight...
He tends to stick out.

But getting back to the original idea, why didn't Cobb know it was Boba's armor... "Freetown" is a bit of a hike from Most Espa. Again, there's no guarantee that one bounty hunter in the employ of Jabba would really stand out, no matter how cool his battered armor is. I live in Minnesota and I wouldn't know the State Governor if I bumped into them on the street. However, their security personnel might clue me in that they're somebody important, even if I didn't know them by sight. :)

If he wore a fancy Fedora and was into disintegrations
You might !

I honestly don’t know what the point would be with another season of TBOBF. This season seemed so anemic regarding the storyline and interesting characters that it would be better just to integrate everyone fully into the next Mando season.
Exactly.. not worth even trying to save, move on to the next new thing.

We don’t need another season lol
I would entertain another season, but only if it consisted solely of intra-Sarlaac flashbacks involving prior acts of bad@ssery on Boba's part, with each episode getting weirder and more psychedelic due to Boba's memory of the prior event actually being corrupted by the madness accompanying the process of his slow digestion by the Sarlaac.

With Obi-wan coming everything else needs to get as far away from Tatooine as possible. Really bad idea to continue a Fett series. For being the back woods of the galaxy, as a location it has become too big a player and major hub for everything that happens in it.

Agreed. They need to stop dividing their attention pushing for faster releases and make sure they have good products.

I would have actually been happier with the series if he would have died for a purpose. It seemed more like aimless meandering…
I think that’s what bothers me the most. There was literally no effect of TBOBF plot on the rest of the universe. The only fact that you’d need to know going forward is that Grogu is back with Mando. That’s it.
