The Book of Boba Fett

I see something like a black underwear between the upper leg armour and the hip area, so if this is CG they really have done it carefully. I say it is a real-life costume, like Bane's mask. It looks like there is a real human inside, not a spindly ragdoll. And this fact required a slight rework of the Trooper costume. I hope there will be a Making Of explaining it. Just imagine they hired fans for that scene like they did with the Nevarro siege. :)
Maybe like the death troopers?

I liked lot about this episode but my god it was loaded with fan service lol, some of which was done really well. Cad Bane was awesome, he looked very menacing, incredible facial expressions. Very blown away by him. I absoutely loved the duel with Vanth. Wasn't super original but it was really cool to see in SW. I really really like Timothy Olyphant in this. A Cobb Vanth show would've been a far better spin off than TBOBF.

Luke was way overplayed although (looked great when not moving) he just didn't feel alive almost like he was missing his soul as weird as that may sound. Man his voice was off and he did look like he was in slow motion as others have mentioned. Luke using his lightsaber and levitating frogs was completely unnecessary. The Grogu scenes, as cute as he, is were a bit slow but they weren't bad. Still far better than anything with Morrison. I don't particularly care for live action Ahsoka, she just feels so off. Strange that a cartoon seems much more alive than an actual person. Not sure if that's because of Dawson, Filoni or both. Fix it or get Ashley Eckstein lol. Please.

The flashback Jedi temple scene was great. Hope we see more of that. I've always wanted an extended version of order 66. Cool props in this episode, Bane's blaster is now on my list.

Looking forward to next week's show, The Book of Everyone Else.

Luke’s voice is still a bit off since it’s AI generated. It can’t quite capture the inflection needed for all emotions. It sounds good when it matches the intended emotional delivery and flat when it doesn’t. But it didn’t take me out of it. I’m sure they’ll improve it, it’s crazy how much they already improved his look. Its incredible to me how close they already are.

I cheered when I saw Vanth and literally gasped when I saw Bane! (Why is Bane such a great evil character in whatever universe he is in? And interesting that they both need tubes connected to their head?) His look was so menacing! Also, how is it people just show up in the desert out of nowhere? It’s really cool both Vanth and Bane did it, but without any transportation at all?

Maybe Tatooine isn't very Big and Easy to walk round..
Yeah I shouted when Cobb appeared too..he's one of the Great New characters they have introduced..
Bane was like Cool but I've only seen a smattering of the Animated shows..

Literally breaks his back…

I’ll say what everyone else said. The deepfake was a big win for this episode. They really listened to the reactions after Mando S2. Hats off.

Also, the one thing that kinda bothered me was how Cad Bane seemed to always be crinkling his nose. Almost like the top have of the mouth prosthetic doesn’t articulate.

But honestly the only this that made me sad was that he didn’t have a toothpick in his mouth

here, i fixed it,
i just turned cool badass upto 11, (y)

I'm ashamed I missed this because I read the manga: ScreenCrush pointed out that the choice given Grogu parallels the choice given to the child in Lone Wolf and Cub, where, in that case, he had to choose a ball/normal life or a sword/life with his assassin father.

The frogs. I know they're trying to do the Yoda X-Wing thing, but that was part of a lesson to Luke. Where is the lesson in Luke showing off that he can levitate more frogs than his pupil can?

As much as I appreciated this episode and enjoyed several scenes, I am a bit frustrated, to be honest. Last episode made thematic sense to BOBF and functioned more like an interlude. This episode was a complete detour from the storyline of BOBF and doesn't really have thematic ties to Boba Fett's arc. I feel like I would love this episode if this was Mando S3 ep 2.

Nonetheless, I thought the bits with Cobb, Bane, Din & Ahsoka were really good. I kinda liked the stuff between Luke and Grogu, but it didn't excite me as much as I thought it would. Honestly, the small scenes with R2 were more exciting than Luke.

I think Luke still hasn't fully realized that he's reteaching misguided views as taught by PT jedi. I hope thematically he'll realize that soon and start to rewrite some Jedi teachings. Because in TLJ, Luke clearly realizes the mistakes of the PT Jedi order. Slight segway, but I thought Luke looked incredible. Clearly Shamook had some dealings in the improvement of his face. Though, Luke's speech was really wonky and monotone. I agree with whoever said to go full John Williams. It was too much of a mixture between Ludwig and Williams, so it was a bit jarring.

To reiterate my thoughts overall, I really liked this episode, but at the same time feel very confused and jarred with its placement in a Boba Fett story.
