Interesting Differences Between Two Pendleton Westerley's (The Big Lebowski)

I was lucky enough to pick up the Westerly (Right) for a steal at $40. It's my go-to. I just found this other Westerley (Left) today and the differences are interesting. The material on the left one is a bit more itchy and appears darker and is also lighter in weight than the one on the right...

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a pair of the Colores del Pueblo pants, just wondering how they run for size if anyone has a pair? I'm 35 inches in the waist exactly and was thinking maybe a Large (described on the website as fitting "up to 40 inches") will be a more dude-like fit than the Medium ("up to 36 inches")
