The Best Thing I Ever Ate

Took my wife to Philly for the weekend for her Bday to see the Body Works exhibit, local sights, Reading Terminal Market, etc etc... Yesterday morning, on our way out of town, we did our last big important thing: as seen on the Food Network show, from Kanella Restaurant - the Cyprus Breakfast. seriously - this was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Oooof. Those Greeks really know what they're doing! (that's what she said)

I thought the best thing you ever ate was the won ton soup from that chinese restaraunt. I believe you used the word "obsessed". I'm starting to see a pattern here. :lol

Really thrilled to see Philly in this thread. Its the reason I stick around the area... you can't eat better.

Bottom line...the good tasty is here (and South Jersey).

Next time you're in the area check out Morning Glory A Finer Diner. Corny name? Yes. Delicious food? Yes. Bring your own all natural maple syrup and they'll remind you they already use the good stuff. To date the only place I've ever been to that has the real syrup. For the Vegan's there's even a delicious curried tofu prepared to look like scrambled eggs... and its damn good. Homemade ketchup and jam everyday at no extra charge, and you're a fool if you don't opt for the biscuit over toast.

Looking for a Philly classic? Drive by the light show (and the line) at Pat's/Gino's and treat yourself to a Cheesesteak with sharp provelone from Tony Luke's.

I could go on and on. When's lunch?

Okay Jason, that is a cruel thing to post man. I am starving now.........LOL. That looks incredible.

My best I ever ate dish: Chicken Marsala with garlic mashed potatoes from Carrabbas Italian Restaurant. I always forget how good it is until I take that first bite and then think, "wow my memory was so short of reality". :)

It's a well kept secret, our fine dining here in Philly. I've had THAT meal, and that amazing pic doesn't do it justice. NY is well know for it, but these places in Philly are on par. If you're within 4 hours driving, MAKE THE DRIVE.....

Ok its breakfast time! Best thing I ever ate was a pan fried duck liver in Baden Baden Germany. It was the special that night. After the first bite I asked the waiter if I could order another one and have it the next night. Chef came out on the second night and thanked me.

Ill put the Greek Bfast on the list next time im in Philly.

Duck livers were a special that morning, too funny. But we made the trip with the Cyprus dish in mind, so we stuck to our guns. I also had a lemonnana to drink - looked up the recipe and made some when we got home. A nice minty twist on lemonade, without being too strong.

And yeah, that Won Ton is dang good, but I have room in my heart (stomach) for more than one great meal :p

I'm actually marinating a pork loin in a Char Sui concoction right now - going to make the "authentic" broth tonight, taking the advice of you guys from that other thread!

I've had the Filet Mignon from Carrabbas that was pretty amazing - it's a great place. Those mashed potatoes are so rich!

Morning Glory - check! Will try it next time we're up.

That looks damn tasty. Damn tasty indeed. Good thing there's only about half an hour until I'm going to eat dinner, otherwise I would likely have beaten you for displaying such mouth watering, lovely looking essen.

Anyone coming to Philly and looking for good food, shoot me a PM. I live here and eat out regularly (I'm a self-professed foodie). I can recommend some good places, depending on what you're looking for.

I Love Love Love basted eggs, which looks like what ya got there. so crunchy and delicious. add some olives, some fried cheese, some pickles, maybe some thick bacon - hoo boy would that be a breakfast!
