The Batman costume research and found parts ID

Wrist grapple v1. I’m pretty stoked with how this turned out.

I am almost done with the left gauntlet I made all the tweaks so it will come out further and come from the correct position on the gauntlet. I’ve had so many messages here on fb and Instagram so I wanted to show you guys. The gun is printed in plastic for the test paint. But it looks pretty good. I have resin ones printing as we speak. I love the sound of it popping out and being retracted. I also figured out how to make it fire the dart. Pretty fun build so far.

Does anyone else think that the gloves might not actually be Mechanix Wear Breachers, but custom-made gloves based heavily on the Breacher? I think a similar approach was used for a few different gloves on some of the Star Wars movies David Crossman also worked on, like the ones worn by Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, so it makes sense that he'd do the same thing for The Batman. Some of the differences between the Mechanix Wear and Batman gloves that I noticed are:
  • The thumb has a completely different design.
  • The index finger also has a bit of a different design and a new finger guard, but maybe that has something to do with the "removable trigger finger" on the Mechanix Wear gloves.
  • There's more space between the two stitching lines around the knuckle guard and the two stitching lines above the finger guards on each finger.
  • The knuckle guard obviously has fewer lines in it, but those could have been filled in as has already been demonstrated in this thread.
  • The lines going through the finger guards kinda look more angular.
  • The palm could also be a different design too, but it's hard to tell with just the pictures I've found.
Here's reference pictures of the Batman gloves:

And the Mechanix Wear Breachers for comparison:

Another similarity between The Batman and Rogue One costumes is that there's zigzag stitching lines around the bottom of the sleeves of both the Batman costume and Shoretrooper costume's undershirts (which is also usually covered up by the gauntlets on both):

Speaking of the undershirt, I wonder if that is what the Fidlock SNAP female fasteners for the neck armor and chest piece are attached to, or if those are on another layer worn on top of the black undershirt. You can kind of see a strap in the fourth image here that might be for a separate gray/reflective vest or something that the fasteners are attached to, separate from the undershirt:

Also, a writer for Screen Rant got a copy of The Art of The Batman early and posted some pictures, including this one that shows cowl concept art and what looks like a cowl with bullet holes sitting on a stand in the Batcave:

They are the breachers but heavily modified. I did the same mods for mine

Think the zig-zag pattern is the stitching on the cuff of the gloves. It's fairly common on gloves. Its a stretch stitch

It looks like Robin (Jason Todd in Titans) also likes the Mechanix Breachers. The guards have been painted green.

Has anybody been able to figure out what brand and type the backpack is that Bruce wears in drifter clothing on his motorcycle? People have reported that it's the Kelty MAP 3500, but I don't think it is.

One guy on reddit claimed to figure out which bag it was, but he's refused to reply to anyone in weeks, which is great....

It's driving me nuts guys!

Has anyone identified the baton/flare holsters on the back of the belt? Also, anyone know what exact kind of nylon pouch is next to the sticky bomb dispenser? Thanks!

That nylon pouch is supposed to hold a pair of handcuffs, since that is what comes with some of the figures. I've done a lot of searching but haven't been able to find a match. I don't think the pouch itself is specifically for handcuffs, though, since it looks larger than the handcuff pouches out there.

To me that nylon pouch seems too narrow for your standard handcuff couch. I’ve been looking for multitool, binoculars, batons, pepper spray, and some other types of pouches. Got pretty close but no exact match.

I have to learn more about what you used to build this and how. I’m trying to make my own and it’s just not working

Been looking for it too! No luck, but searches with large laptop or travel backpack are getting close. I think it's an expandable bag as well since it has side straps.

Finally!!! Someone asking the important question here. I also have been searching endlessly through forums and online images of any behind the scenes footage to find a clear shot on this backpack. I did come across a guy filming the chase scene in Chicago (attached video). Which isn’t the best but is the best we got so far. I’ve also attached the best close up images of this backpack I’ve found. Likewise it is most definitely not a Kelty MAP 3500. I’m betting maybe as time goes on we’ll get more behind the scenes footage with the release on DVD or the art of Batman. Hell maybe even the figurine. I’m disappointed that they rarely make any discussion of this outfit even with how much they refer to it in all the merchandise! I hope the community can come together to ID this headache of a prop that’s kept me and others awake at night.

The helmet is a shoei ex zero with the visor added

Inside jacket is a black zip up hoodie

Jacket is a brandit MA-1 bomber jacket

Hat is a burgundy snap back

Pants are caterpillar mens trademark pants

Boots are still the TCX heroes. The reason they used these boots was because Rick the stunt guy was sponsored by them. He told me that.

I ordered the pants and they will be here tomorrow. I’ll let you know how they look and sizing

Do we know for sure the jacket is the brandit MA-1 bomber jacket? I think on the pictures it doesn’t look so shiny. I don't think the material is nylon.

I apologize if I missed it, but what is this thing and is anyone making it?
