Yep, you lift up on the film winder "forcably" -as the manual states, and it pops open.
Had a good find on my local craigslist today. Only $40, not bad. Shutter works and everything. Planning on doing a street clothes Parker for a local convention. Might just have to replace the light seals and things to get it fully functional again. I'm having a bit of a hard time with the strap though. Can't seem to find it on ebay. Anyone know where else I might be able to get one?
I managed mine by searching "vintage camera strap" and cycling through the pages. There were at least three listed at the time I bought it. I was afraid that they would start disappearing once the movie hit, that's why it was the first thing I bought!

Awsome, works like a treat! I can finally get inside to clean in there now. I've got to say, my camera is in stellar condition, it looks like new! Shame about the battery situation.
Also, for those following my mask replica project, great news. I've found somewhere to screen print my design onto the lycra! Shouldn't be too long now before they're printed. I will be doing a limited run of masks, so keep a look out.

Wow, thank you so much. Was beginning to wonder if I was ever going to find one. Their shipping to Canada is atrocious though, it would cost me the same as I paid for the camera. Trying a package receiving service as I live near the border. Will see how that goes.

I've been trying to track down a legitimate site to get Peter's glasses from (Oliver Peoples Larrabee in color 362 Horn), but havent had much luck.
Even the sites that are moderatlely less sketchy tell me its on backorder or discontinued after I place the order and I have to cancel.

One of the things I loved about the previous Spider-Man franchise was the soundtracks. Much to my surprise (considering Marc Webb's wonderful use of music in 500 DAYS OF SUMMER and his music video background), they didn't do a soundtrack for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (outside of the score of course). So, I went ahead and put a playlist together on Spotify comprised of the 4 tracks used in the film, along with my own little addition of a bonus track by The Temper Trap called "Peter Parker's Alter Ego" - major missed opportunity not using this song in the film considering it fits perfectly, sounds like it was MADE for a Spider-Man film, and coincidentally The Temper Trap had the central song in Webb's 500 DOS.

Happened upon a great find! Coincidentally while I was on a local search for the Vince jacket at a few "last chance" stores I know to carry that brand, I happened upon this field jacket by Projek Raw. As you can see, it's the closest match to the Vince I've seen yet (and trust me, I've looked at just about every variation of field jacket there is online).
It does have its slight differences. I'm going to have a tailor add gold snap buttons to the pockets and replace the silver ones down the opening with the same. Also, remove the small epaulets on the shoulders.
But if you notice it has the same details across the back with the hem, same pocket shapes (though the bottom two don't have outer seams like I think the Vince does), same collar with zip-out hood and is the same brushed twill material. The color is also really close.
Sure, it's not a legit Vince and doesn't satisfy the quest for the real deal of course but it at least tides me over until I find one. Just thought I'd share! Happy hunting.

It was only $40! Of course that was at TJ Maxx on clearance. I checked out the brand Projek Raw and it looks like they sell it at the same stores that Vince is sold (Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, etc) and most the PR jackets I could find were around the same original price as the Vince ($200-$300).
