The Amazing Spiderman (Reboot) Costumes and Wardrobe

With all of these new stills, we have TONS of reference on the suit and webshooters now! It's fantastic :D

Re: Spiderman Reboot Costumes and Wardrobe

my guess and its only a guess is because Toby didnt want to do it and also down to spidey 3 being bloody awful. i realy hope they ,ake the suit look something beleivably made too. loved the last suit but would be great to see an alex ross type suit and have mechanical web shooters too.

I think Sony also doesn't want to give up the license back to Marvel, so this keeps it with them a little while longer.

does anyone know what the new costume is made out of?

it has been said before that it looks like a basketball has been skinned and made into a costume, but it really does look like a hard material

it appears very uncomfortable, almost looks as though you couldn't breath well in it!

i really do like this design, it seperates it from the raimi films but also still identifiable as spider-man immediately

This material is definately not hard or rigid. I'd have to venture a guess and say it's either foam latex, silicone or urethane elements attached to a 4-way lycra suit. By no means, they would ever use an actual basketball for this kinda costume.

They really out did the Raimi suit on this one. I bet Fanboys attemting this one are having a helluva time debating this one too. Bullitt, I think you're on the right track with Urethane and the 4-way though. The hexagon print and distress is amazing. As I see no seams or way for entry. This suit and all it's new quirks are definitely settling in....even those silly shoes. It'll fit right in with the decorative Avenger's theme nicely.

The image about the webshooters are a nice touch, seems very homemade and I might try a crack at it later down the road, just because it involves leather. ;)

For those who've been curious about my printed suit project, the fabric arrived! Here's a lil pic to tease your optic nerves :p

looks like the silver on the shoes is gone!

I think someone decided to personally photoshop the silver into red. I'm also thinking they went independant ops on those two pics, not informing anyone else....or they just didn't catch it :rolleyes

I really hope they lose the silver. It'll be a pain to rotoscope it out of every frame in the film but I think it's a cleaner look in the end.

I don't think there will be enough time to fix the toys and such if this is the case. Same thing happened with Peter Jackson's King Kong. THey changed Kong's design at the last second and all the toys and merch looked "off".

So, this is one of the highest resolution images of the suit I have been able to find so far, and I believe that it clearly shows that suit is just made of printed spandex. While it does appear that the design is somewhat 3-d, it is not as intense as we were lead to believe, and is mostly just an illusion.

Warning: Very large picture.

^ Absolutely, but still there's some 3D on top of the print. At least the black "webbing-" pattern seems to be...

I've been extensively researching this costume. I'm hoping to make the reboot suit for a female. Any tips? I would like to have it made before Halloween (wishful thinking), but DEFINITELY before the premiere. Any tips, that haven't already been pointed it previously in this thread, would be greatly appreciated. :)

I'm guessing the webs as well as the spider logos are latex, similar to the Raimi suit. Which is what gives it the 3-d look. Then the honeycomb pattern is printed. While examining the picture further, there also appears to be a secondary pattern on the blue fabric.
