Wow, from scratch, looks great. You are gifted...needs tightening up, but again, you did this from scratch!

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit Replica WIP

Whoa. That looks fantastic!

I am completely blown away by how well this is coming out!! I am very jealous!! Nice work.

bloody hell i really can't put into words how brilliant this costume turned out !!!! this is one if not the best spidey suit technique i've ever seen well done :)

how did you exactly make the mask. b/c i want to make just a mask for now. And i was hoping for some tips or instructions.

great build from scratch especially the shoes/boots, those look amazing!!!

Really stunning work, Tom.

Wow, "Amazing" ;)

Wow, thanks for the incredible responses guys! hopefully i'll have it done soon!

It may just be me being a perfectionist, but there are a fair few imperfections which are leading me towards making a second suit... probably with a navy fabric and non puff paint lines (as i've had to repair a few snapped ones :() anyway i'll finish this one and see how i feel from there, kinda wanna go back to working on my iron man suit after this :)

dooley23, check out my older thread about my ASM mask, it's pretty much two halves stitched together, except this one had an extra strip of fabric to split the stitching to compensate for there not being a web line from the nose down.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit Replica WIP

Wow. You've defenetly proved that peter could have made his own suit!!

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit Replica WIP

Very AWESOME suit man! Great work! :)

Thanks!

Made some more progress with the spider logo :) i wanted both spiders to be made of the same material so finding red rubber that wasn't silicone was proving difficult... so i've decided to go with faux leather, as it's cheap, flexible and comes in loads of colours. The only problem is cutting it as (like i said) it's flexible :p But anyway, i'm liking the results :D Stay tuned!

Thanks a lot guys! Sorry for no updates lately, been doing a bit of work on my iron man suit...

...But anyway, don't wanna turn this into another Iron Man thread! :rolleyes

I've been doing some planning/tests of stuff for my second and more economical Spidey suit. Doing so i was curious about using acrylic paint for the webs (as it is a fraction of the price as fabric paints), so i filled an empty puff paint bottle with black acrylic paint and applied as you would with puff paint, and found the result to be almost identical! Now i'm fairly familiar with paint as i'm from an art background and know that acrylic paint is permanent, but can crack... but then again so does puff paint! :wacko anyway here is my test, i've been stretching it like crazy and it seems to hold up better than puff paint itself!

Has anyone tried this before, that can validate the results? Cheers :cheers

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit Replica WIP

this is so fly. And youre not going do some puff painting on the blue part? If you lay down blue slick puff paint sparingly, it soaks into the fabric so its not too 3d but still shimmers. On a kinda unrelated note, how do you upload the pictures so that theyre so big?

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit Replica WIP

You have inspired me to have a go at my own spidey costume with your detailed progression posts.
You make it look easy....which means it won't be :rolleyes.....

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit Replica WIP

I found some fabric that might be good for the blue sections, trying to see if they do samples so I can see how raised the sections are

They also do a darker blue too
