The A-team

I just say this, it was the first block-buster of the summer that either met or exceeded my expectations!!! :thumbsup :thumbsup

Definitely hoping for another mission in the not too distant future! :cool

:cheers

Does Murdock at least wear the leather A2 flight jacket with the "Da Nang-Tiger-1970" emblem in this film?

Was fun, enjoyed it... while I never was a huge A-Team fan in the day, I did watch more than a few episodes. I felt the movie was the perfect kind of update. Paid the right kind of homages to the source material without being dated.

Was it a perfect movie? Far from it... but, it was lots of fun.

That being said, I also do think The Losers was a better "A-Team" styled movie... but alas, none of the characters we know and love.

Aw crap... Forgot it was the Iraq War update...
Mebbe the jacket could read "An Nasiriyah - 2000 whatever..." ?

Loved it.:love

On top of that it was nice to see the Top Cow name at the start of the film. We finalized that deal as officially "in the works" back in last 2000. Sure took awhile to hit the screen.:unsure It did help get me to meet Jessica Biel a few times at the studio early in the process, but sadly no one else, and I left the company before they started filming the movie so I could not sidestep my way onto the set.

Wait a second. You work for Top Cow? As in publishers of the old City of Heroes comic?

Yes, and I was the editor of that book for a awhile. Must admit I did not expect that question!

The deal for producing the A-Team was one of the first things that happened after I joined the company back in 2000. We were partnered up with Scott Free on the production side and had folks in for meeting and such. Jessica was there a few times in 2005 & 06 talking about the role - that movie took forever to get from deal to screen - but I am happy with the end result - wish I could have been more involved with it.

I got a big thrill seeing another 80's tv alum, Gerald McRaney from Simon & Simon getting a lot of screen time. Great stuff.

Super sorry I didn't stay past the credits now :( Next time!

I think also, out of all the movies I have ever seen, this one had the BIGGEST ending sequence ever. Yeah, some if it was pretty cheezy, but it was still a wild ride. Fingers crossed for a sequel in 18 months!!

Though I won't being seeing this, glad you all enjoyed it, but also disappointed that you all enjoyed it as it enables Hollywood to keep making movies from old TV shows.

is there really NO other parade available for you to **** on? Is it really THAT hard to let a few people share their mutual excitement over having spent a couple of hours doing something fun?

Or did you just run out of things to complain about in you own mindless off topic threads??

Seriously.

Well I'll be damned! I dug Top Cow's run on that series. I played the game from launch, so I had the whole Blue King run, too. Top Cow was definitely the higher-end product, though.

Anyway, sorry for the derail folks. You can go about your business. Move along. Move along.

And if they keep making movies this good from old TV shows, I'll keep enjoying them.

I went in thinking it was going to be a travesty and left having really thoroughly enjoyed it.
I totally missed the cameos though and did not stay for the end of the credits... Have to go look for that last bit now.
Very fun movie.

Oh please, the drama!

I'm equally sorry you are such a serious die-hard fan of the original A-Team that you can't stand to see it re-made, it was really a fun film.
You might have also enjoyed a few of the films based on the Star Trek TV series'.
As for old TV series, they will be remaking them into movies for eternity, as well as remaking old movies, not-so-old movies and comic books.
They will make movies from current and recent TV series (Simpsons, Serenity, 24) and they will make movies from great novels and short stories and not-so-great stories.
If you have an original idea for a film, please posit it or write it and sell it, I would love to see it!
Meanwhile, this is thread about the A-Team movie.
If you don't intend on seeing it, what's the point of posting here?
Just to let us all know you wont be going to see it? Are you really glad that we all enjoyed it so much?
No offense intended, but it really doesn't affect me one way or the other if you see it or any other movie, ever.

Had a great time watching it tonight! Lauged out loud more than I thought I would. All of the actors did a great job, and the story was pretty good too. Hopefully they make enough money to do another one.

Loved the easter eggs and the cameos. I caught the Reginald Barkley reference, and the D Shultz signature. Did Mr T have a cameo? If he did... I missed it. If not... why not?

Finally saw this movie and REALLY enjoyed it. Copley played a great Murdock and had me laughing. Honestly, this is one I will see again.

So, I guess the next Cannell show to made into a movie will be Riptide?

RIPTIDE!!!

I remember that show...Man it has been years since I thought about that one.

So I wonder if they will do another A-team with the current roster? I know it did not make earth shattering money, but the fan base seemed to enjoy it...Heck, my wife even enjoyed it....I would love to see them do a couple more.

Jason
