I'm sorry, but the last two post are correct, neither of them are allowed, because not everything is $1. at those stores.(I'm actually just caring over that rule from the last $1. contest, from years ago, so don't shoot the messenger. )
You are allowed to have a friend mail you items from a $1 store to you, (as long as they send you a receipt with your items) or order from an online $1. store. as long as everything on the sight is $1. (or .99$) before shipping, and tax are added. Or you might checking your phone book, sometimes these thing pop up, and we don't even know about them. They are usually in plazas/strip mails, but they are in some regular malls, and there are even a few "stand alone" stores, out there.
I think the point of his smiley was that he realized that they didn't count. I could be reading it wrong, though.
Actually I don't think Dollar General or Family Dollar count. Has to be from a store where everything is 1 dollar
Dammit, I can't find a 1 euro store in my town :cry
10. international entrees are welcome. Please us the denomination of your currency, closest to 1 US dollar. (i.e. 1 Pound, 1 ERO, etc. etc.) and a max of 20 of said currency, before tax, or shipping. (i.e. 20 pounds, 20 ERO, etc. ) And, I ask, if it is at all possible, that you also shop only at your countries equivalent to a "$1. store". ( i.e. 1 ERO store) If there is no such thing in your country, please do your best to conform to as many of the rules listed here, as possible, pertaining to budget, and of course all of the other rules listed here would still apply.
I’m not really a big fan of buying stuff on the internet, I wanna see and feel what I’m buying.
Good luck with your saber. (same goes for everyone else.)
Well a fruitless weekend spent trawling Pound Shops in the area. Unless I can figure out a way to make a lightsaber out of cookies, chocolates and discount soda, I think I'm SOL. Seriously, half a dozen stores between the town I live in and the next town over and not a single item that could even remotely begin to look like a hilt. Just lots of discount food items. Are Lightsabers made of confectionary allowed? Or would that be more of a baking competition? :rolleyes
Yeah, you are allowed to use food items. That's why the rules say you can us things like chocolate for molding, and/or casting. You just might not want to try to lathe a year old chocolate bunny, into a saber. (oh, what a mess that would be.)
I'm in, I've already started!
Question: You're allowed to use your own paints, but can you use paint mixed with latex in order to add texture?
