I concur option 3. I believe that is who will end up using it in Episode VIII. As tempted as I am to offer other opinions, I will wait to remain potentially spoiler free.

While I am thinking about it, how do you do the spoiler hide thing.

You write your text between (SPOILER) and (/SPOILER), but with square brackets instead.

I think perhaps we would be safe in calling it Skywalker light saber episode VII saber. Anyone else agree she is Luke's daughter?

I believe she is. Why else would Max Von Sydows character just happen to be on the same planet as Rey with that vial piece of info.
It would make sense he's watching over her like Obi Wan was Luke. Also, Poe knew where Von Sydow was with the info meaning Leia sent him.

He might, it is just a guess. Maybe he threw it away after his trainees were slaughtered? part of his self exile? Maybe not. I reckon rey will at least have to build her own, maybe with the crystal from the graflex saber (bye bye graflex). Maybe she will get a staff saber?

Well, Obi Wan always kept his lightsaber, I like Luke TFA, but we never called it Anakin ANH since it was actually his, so many possible names. Will leave it as TFA Graflex :lol

So, on second viewing I really watched for this and...

both Rey and Finn ignite the saber using the red button the first time they do it, so someone on set is telling them that's what to do.

the visual dictionary is great, I also have the incredible cross sections book on order, does anyone know if there's a Lightsaber picture in there?

I'm sorry if one's been posted but I'm still slowly making my way through this thread. Would any of you graflex owners mind posting a clear photo of the glass eye in a graflex? I'm doing a mod of a toy anakin saber hilt for a cheaper

Yeah that kinda bugs me somewhat but it is what it is. I guess that means the Luke TESB saber has two activation...buttons. Lol!

I found a box VERY similar to that at Hobby Lobby the other day. I got it to give to my step dad for christmas, full of boot care products.
For $35 it would make a very close substitute.

I went to the theater again last night. I noticed 2 different heros

one with long grips and one with short

the graflex in the box had short grips, and it also looked like the graflex Finn used against the shock stick trooper the grips were short as well

when kylo flicks the graflex out of Finns hand and it falls in the snow, the damn grips are long!!

the visual dictionary now also shows the short grips..

I also 100% believe the grips are riveted on in the box scene

I want to build this box so bad I'm hunting metal straps now...

I don't know if this helps, but here is a quick example of one in mine:

Just take note that there are a number of variations of the metal frame around the eye too.

I believe those are rivets.
