Terminator: Genisys

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

There is nothing to say the war ended on 2029

Actually there is.

And there is indeed a JC Jr. He is the unborn child in TS.

No there isn't.

regardless of the attempt in editing to hide that story line.

They did manage to hide it...

why didn't Skynet send everything after Sarah Connor?

Dunno, ask Cameron ;)

as seen in T3

If we are going by deleted scenes(which aren't canon), then T3 never happened, as seen in the deleted ending for T2.

then he was 45 years old in that scene in 2029.

44 actually, Since he was born on February 28th 1985 and the events in the future scene takes place on July 11th 2029.

If it is not in the movies, it's not canon, s

Exactly, so there is no John Connor Jr.

There is still four more years to go till 2032

Um four??? No, but three. Besides you really should let the whole 2032 go, after all it's taken out of the ass of the people who gave you "Talk to the hand"-BS.

He even tells one of his security detail that Kyle is/will be his father.

"Rodriguez" if I remember it correctly :)

I think that's the one he re-programs and sends back to battle the T-1000.

Correct. I wish he had the money back then to shoot all of that :(

Believe it or not the people behind TS had come up with a great TS story

So? So what? The end product is a joke, worse it's an insult to everything that came before. Even Arnie's Elton John-glasses.

it can only tank

Hear hear. Either Cameron doing it or no more Terminator films. And since Cameron doesn't want to... no more, for the love of god please.

Interesting possibility about a reboot though. Would the designs of the Terminators be rebooted aswell? This is something I wouldn't like......I think!:confused

They already ****ed up.. sorry "rebooted" the designs with T3.. they even changed our beloved T-800. then they screwed up the designs even more with TS.

they WERE supposed to be infiltrators - hit and run kinda of deal - not human sized tanks. Finesse over brute force. So that aspect will have to be taken into account as well. Hell... even Arnold in T1 was not the punch through walls, stopping trucks in their tracks or heavy in the same way as portrayed in the sequels and the tv series

The tv show didn't really screw that one up... mostly T3 and TS did that and royally at that.

The T-800 in TS picks up a T-600 which is bigger and weighs more like it's a teddy bear and snaps it in half... dumb writing? No more like retarded. Not to mention the extremely heavy doors it smashes off its hinges. The T1 T-800 certainly didn't do that with the extremely smaller metallic door in the factory scene.

T-850 in T3 gets rammed through a building... no serious damage. Same Terminator later gets it head removed from its body... no serious damage, apparently. Not to mention it also loses both of its power sources yet it continues to be able to operate.

While the original Terminator in T1 gets hit by a speeding truck ONCE and that leaves a serious limp.

Lance Henrikson, who's Bishop in Aliens and Weyland in AvP, so he's been in all three franchises, if you count AvP as a Predator movie. .)

You don't. Alien - Predator and AvP are three very different franchises. Like Freddy vs Jason.

I believe he is saying that he's a spammer, or possibly a sausage :lol

And yet it couldn't kill a human. Just grab Connor, and rip him in half. Done.

The Terminator
You are one hell of a quoting machine! Bravo! Do you have any collection photos you can show? Something gives me the feeling you are a hard core Terminator fan. :cool

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

I believe some of James Cameron's concept drawings for the endoskeleton was drawn with a medium sized man in mind. Some of the drawings certainly look sleek and not as bulky as the endo eventually turned out due to Arnold's size.

Word.

Remember, originally, the role was going to Lance Henriksen.

O.J., :lol. One of my friend's mother's still says he was innocent because he had supposedly bought some ice cream that had not melted. If it did't melt, the truth wasn't dealt...:lol

Exactly! My point exactly... people working on TS must be seriously lacking brain cells :p

Not a single one I'm afraid.
1 I don't own a camera, nor a phone with a camera.
2. I don't have that many replicas/figures/books and what-not.
3. I'm not rich :p and I tend to buy other things, like food hehe.
But I do have the films on almost every format known to man lol except laser disc I suppose. Got some "making of" books, scripts, jackets, novels... :)

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

What a new Terminator movie needs is a good score in style with the Brad Fiedel music.

The music in T3 was uninspiring as hell - did it even HAVE a score?

The score Danny Elfman did for TS was in the right direction, if only he had included the theme. He had that mechanical vibe to his score... he just didn't have that frantic tension and build-up that both Brad Fiedel's scores have.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

I can't see anyone but Arnold as the 1984 Terrminator. Never liked Simpson even less after his trial.

But neither did the movie. T1 we spent he whole movie worrying that Sarah might get caught. In TS Connor got grabbed early on, and just lost a boot.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Personally I think the TS score was horrible. I kept expecting to see Johnny Depp pop out somewhere or little people dressed as spacemen.

What he said. It was so very extremely generic and sounded nothing like "Terminator-music". For a T1-sounding soundtrack the Daft Punk duo might do a good job. As for a more T2 sound Bear McCreary would be the perfect choice, probably.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

True... the new Tron had that techno-grunge vibe that could work well as an upgraded 80's synth-tech style.

What I particularly liked about Elfman's score was the first track on the CD. It has the feel and it also reminded me of the Tron music - I'm sure it's completely different, but still - ... but the rest of the score just lacks compared to it. That first track is the only one I listen to amidst the Fiedel music.
