Terminator: Genisys

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Terminator is just a mess now. I just don't see how another movie can be made. This is one instance that I would be ok with a revamp, a do-over and do it right this time.
I agree I hope they do it over and with a better in depth story line with the T-800s and JC was very well done by Christian Bale ,however in order for ir to straighten out more would have to be reworked due to so many loopholes with the original storyline getting altered from one movie to the next .....SOMEBODY BETTER FIX SOMETHING WITH T5 ,CAUSE ONEYE IS GOING TO GET POSTAL AND THERE WILL BE ALOT OF RPF MEMBERS GOING MISSING .........lol:lol

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Seriously man, Terminator and me, we're efn done professionally.

Fix things with five or take the permanent dive!

Edit - RPF members are safe, everyone else, stand by...

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

I heard that,I am a major fan myself ,however me I could sit and watch aT-800 do a Tidy Bowl commercial and blow up a few smurfs ,I could watch anything with terminators no matter how a storyline goes.......

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

Actually, you know what - I caught "ROTM" on TV last night. haven't seen it for years.

And I realised, the problem with the Terminator movies kind of is Arnold. He obviously
doesn't really have a full handle on how the movies should be 'pitched' (style). Compare his performance between T2 and T3. (hell - compare his hair dye!).

Also, notice how he pronounces Terminator as 'toy-min-ator'. It is almost like
a toy.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

The funny thing about T1 is if you watch Arnold, he winces, flinches, twitches... when shooting a gun, fighting, looking quick.... He got it more under control in T2 and was deadpan by T3.

Yeah, not exactly an improvement if you ask me, more like a caricature.

Or Maybe by T3 his face was tightened enough by surgery or the nerves cut enough that he didnt flinch anymore

Oh I don't know about that- I think the "less" Schwarzenegger blinks, twitches etc, the more "machine-like" he becomes.

Terminators may "look" completely spot-on human, however they don't quite have "acting human" down pat.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

But maybe Skynet tried to make them act human and gave them some fake reactions. If they were totally non expressive you'd know something was up.

When the Terminator was reprogrammed in T2 and T3 it lost the expressive sub routine. [how's that for a ret-con?]

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

If I recall, in T3 Arnold had some tape done and not botox. To do the Terminator face he needs to contract and flex facial muscles including his forehead, mouth and jaw.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

anyone can say anything, its the money being it that will make the final decision if a new movie is made and what rating it will be. Still no idea why people have this hate for PG13 and insist an R rating makes a good movie? Terminator doesnt need f'bombs and boobies, faces being torn off children or hot dog on cyborg leg action.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

PG13 means nothing in regards to the writer or director, its more asses in the seats = more dollars. Its economics. You may be shocked to learn most films, even sci fi movie of the week fodder do both an R and PG13 safe for tv take for questionable scenes. You can get away with a whole hell of a lot with PG13. As stated, Terminator doesnt need F'bombs and boobies. It needs a comprehensible story that goes somewhere then worry about a rating when the film is cut. Setting out to make an R rated Terminator is just as stupid as setting out to make it PG13. Its building a fence you must cross as opposed to the open playing field.

re: Terminator 5 (Reboot)

I just want to see the war we were given glimpses of in T1 & T2. I am hoping an R rating would make it even better. I don't want a wussi-fied Bonham Carter Skynet. I want a war movie with plasma rifles shooting their lasers and exploding terminators and exploding dudes and real terror.

No I don't want a Bay treatment. I want a 2 hr movie that starts like Saving Private Ryan and has a strong finish, unlike Private Ryan.

Oh, I actually agree with this. Worry the hell about the movie first and getting a good story and the best people for the job and not hack writers and directors because they are cheaper and good at catering to the lowest common denominator and then worry about whether you need to kick the censor's sensitive butts later.

And if that right's holder mentioned above is the one responsible for the T3 and T4 flops she needs to grow the hell up and stop what she's been doing so far, as it clearly DOES NOT WORK.
