i plan on building in a little hatch you can open to pull out the cpu! ;D
BEHOLD my super detailed photoshop instructions :D
m2b_zpsc78f6027.jpg

the battery for the leds would be fitted into the back head like this :
m6_zps19c5b9cc.jpg

i thought about letting the cpu be a swtich! with the cpu in place the eyes will glow and the red circle around the cpu spot might blink. once the cpu is pulled out i can imagine the eyes and the red circle to dim out :)

comments, suggestions and critique highly appreciated :)

cheers
adam

Re: Endoskull (Custom design)

That is an awesome idea! Are you planning on scratching the light-kit or buying one? Since the CPU is smaller than a credit card, I would build a small "holster" for it, in the base. You could make a little glass vile for it, like in T-2, and just mount it, somehow, into the base so it would be easy to keep up with. I like the way you think! :)

Re: Endoskull (Custom design)

Just spotted this thread and I just gotta say how awesome this is. As you said, you don't really see any variances of the endo skull so I am really looking forward to seeing the finished product. I tip my hat to you Sir, :cool:thumbsup

you sir are great :D
we think alike. i also thought about a little designed place in the base the cpu can be put into. so either the cpu is inside the head are is placed within the stand. it would be a shame if the cpu would just lie around somewhere, right?!
but the glass cylinder as seen in t2 didnt come to my mind in the first place. it sure is a cool idea!also i agree that size vise it will need to be very slim. the cpu would slide in perfectly without having space to toggle around.

yeah!might really look awesome this way! :popcorn:cool

and about the LEDs.
i already did a research and found a great circuit that suits my needs(selfmade and shown on youtube)
and i really really doubt that i will find it on the market. so i will scratch them i guess.

actually i will follow the option of 2 circuits connected parallely to that battery. one will have smooth 2 LED shift (cpu slot) and the second will control the eyes.
2 LEDs with a delayed fade in and a slow fade out after cutting the power. will post the link next time.
its really perfect! especially that delay of the eyes! woohooo

i did search for some rgbLEDs which colors can be changed with a switch.....but that is really too complicated for me :D lets keep it more or less simple here i said to myself :behave

big thanks for your input! :)

thank you very much! i guess ma thread title is not flashy enough to generate much interest from the start :D

yeah! the funny story is that i joined this forum to find fanmade custom endo skulls for inspiration. and im REALLY wondering if there are any. maybe im using wrong google catch words to find em. MAYBE people create such busts but label them as robot busts or simply cyborg busts. i dont know :lol

On this web-site, if it's T-anything, it'll be labeled as such. You are just a renaissance man, thinking outside the box. You'll have a lot of followers in no time... I just started a build that is taking time to build interest, but I am running a bit behind on it. But I can honestly say I'm the first person I have found to attempt a 1:350 scale Enterprise-C (that isn't for a coffee table). If anyone else is out there, they aren't showing their work. And I like it that way. It would be boring for me to build an Iron Man mkVI and add it to the dozen or so already posted. I want to try something different. You seem to be the same way, and it is awesome... Are you a member of endobuilders? If Cyberdine systems is your passion, I've heard that is a good place to check out. Just be patient, I applied a few weeks ago and the admins STILL haven't gotten to me, yet!

Re: Endoskull (Custom design)

ah yeah i did have a look at your E-C build already =)
as you said yourself you gotta keep things movin once again :D
id love to see your basic structure done to see its huge size in all dimensions :D

i did register at endobuilders like at least 2 month ago. maybe even 3? i did wrtie an extra mail to the admin. no response either..... :(

UPDATE!

as you see i was not afraid to use the most advanced technology to help my plasticcard to stay in place and follow the curveture :D

Re: Endoskull (Custom design)

glad i found this thread, very nice work.

i would like to try out this APOXIE SCULPT, but before i buy any can you confirm some stuff please?

there is no shrinkage whatsoever?

it does not crack?

how hard is it to sand/ what grit do you recommend first off?

how hard does it cure?

i know its expensive but if it does what you say it does the price is irrelevant.

i have a project i want to do and was just thinking about how i would get a smooth surface very similar to what you have archived without molding it into a hard sand-able cast.

thanks for any advice and keep up the great work on this terminator, it is a very nice original piece.

Hi zorg! thanks for the visit! :)
great district9 rifle you got there! hehe i was a lurker for quite some time i must confess

and here are your answers:

-keeps 100% of its mass after hardening. NO shrinking AT ALL

-no cracks

-it is a great putty to sand! i did do the major rough job with a 60p and it worked like a charm. then i did go up to 500 so far. you can sand this putty to a very smooth glossy finish if you end up with 1000p for example. i did try it out. at this point i gotta compliment the apoxie already.

it cures very hard. you will have a very very hard time to break a 3mm diameter stick piece for example. i was very surprised how rigid and solid it ends up to be.

then again you can work the cured putty with a x-acto knife , carve in lines with a panel scriber.

all in all a really great material to work with imo. i can only recommend it to at least try it out once! it might change your modell building life :D (exaggerating bit here hehe)

im happy to hear that you like this build of mine :) thanks for your interest and good luck on your next project!

PS: im about to order some apoxie putty right now :D

Re: Endoskull (Custom design)

thanks for your reply, i will try it out, i can't believe i have missed this stuff, i see it has been mentioned before on here after a search.

the next project is a robot head that requires a smooth surface, i was going to do it in chavant then do a "quick" copy into resin for final sanding etc, but this stuff looks like it will save me the bother.

i'm quite excited by this stuff (sad i know) but if it makes my life easier then its gotta be good.

as for your sculpt, from what i have seen you do with it, it looks right.

there is obviously some thought put into the details/design and it shows.

good luck and thanks again

just wanted to chime in on this too! Apoxie sculpt is great you can get a great high polish on it. I use metal polish at the very end and it gives a nice lustre hell yeah!

Re: Endoskull (Custom design)

See this is why I love finding these new/old threads. You've got a very unique Endo Skull happening there. I like it alot.

Re: Endoskull (Custom design)

I'm gonna go ahead and dub this the C-001. As the war wages on, John Connor's injuries begin to mount. Knowing his human body is on the verge of withering away, and no certain end to the war in sight, John Connor assembles a team for a desperate mission - to commandeer an endoskeleton and insert his consciousness into its CPU.
The result is "Connor 1", or C-001.
