Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

Guys I think we need to wait and see some footage on this one. My guess is its going to be a real Big Bang kids movie like transformers. That's why Megan fox is in it, to get all the 14 year old boys going. It's probably going to be rated 12 so major violence is out. My guess is that since it has the support of the comic creators, is that it's going back to the comics roots of parody, which may be a reason for certain casting. As for the motion capture suits, the last I can remember that used actual full on prosthetics was hellboy and look how much money that made. So the motion capture suits is to get all the young pseudo-film buffs going, because motion capture is the current trend.

Well that's my two cents, and guys of course they are looking for things they can merchandise, they are a big studio who want to make money.

I'm so confused by all this now. I mean why change the shredder and lose the foot clan altogether? I mean are Ninjas not cool anymore or something?

I know he said he's playing the shredder but is he actually the shredder? And what does he mean by changes? Are they gonna do something stupid like have him get infected by the ooze and then all of a sudden start sprouting blades all over him? God I hope not.

I think, considering shredder is wearing a mo cap suit, you just worked out the movie.

In the original script, one of the big reveals was that "Colonel Schraeder" was actually an interdimensional being as well, from the same place the "turtles" are from. And yes, he sprouted ridiculous alien blades.

Oh dear, I really want this to be good, I mean I enjoyed the first transformers movie. It was fun, and it cannot be as bad as tmnt III.

Can it?

I guess I must be in the minority yet again. I am going to open my wallet for this one no matter what. I just hope this meets the family standards for my kids viewing pleasure as well. Cause they would really enjoy a TMNT movie.

I find it funny that on a forum the scrutinizes every little aspect of a movie that so many people seem to think that Bay is directing this movie.

He isnt. His production company is financing it and overseeing it.

Bay is busy in detroit with his next money maker.

That's true, Bay is just producing TMNT but look at battleship. It was directed by Peter Berg and again, produced by Bay. That film is about as Michael bay as it gets without being Michael Bay. If you compare bergs older stuff to Battleship, they're miles apart. That can only tell you that Bay had his hands in the pie the entire way unless Berg is just some fanboy who wanted to make a Michael Bay movie.

Now I will see this regardless of how **** it might (and probably will) be because I was raised on the turtles. I'm just going in with very very low expectations because any property like this that bay even farts next to, ends up being explosion porn and ruins it.

Hmmm.....my bad. Well regardless, I can see him pulling the strings a lot with this film. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy his films and Pain and Gain is great but I can't see him just handing the reigns over to the director and leaving him be. I can see bay looking over his shoulder the entire time.

iirc bay was pretty hands off for The Nightmare on elm st, Friday the 13th, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

And those movies are completely different from his main works. Those were horror films, this is going to be looked at as a popcorn action film aka. His forte.

the point is that Bay lets his production company handle it just fine with out him overseeing every little bit. Bays way too wrapped up in TF to worry about TMNT. he's got other people that do that.
