Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

And my point is that I wouldn't count him out, especially on such a franchise as the Ninja Turtles which is unarguably bigger than transformers. Maybe not so much in Japan and china but definitely here in North America.

Perhaps that's true. I don't follow this stuff as I used to. Either way, back to the original argument. Neither you nor I know how much Bay will be involved in the movie so we shall agree to disagree.

I think we can all agree though that the majority of the things we HAVE seen so far appears to be some pretty bad decision making.

I understand the turtle van in the toys and shell raiser, because it works for the cartoon, but not so much for a group of turtles that are supposed to VERY low profile. It's almost like Transformers hiding in plain site as the most state-of-the-art and most attention-getting shiny vehicles they could possibly be rather than as older beat up cars that no one would think the wiser walking or driving past. Oh wait.....

And Shredder mo-cap suit? Just what elements of the costume are too hard to produce practically to shoot on-camera? Are the shoulder blades rotating magic bullet motors? It's just ridiculous! And April.... I'm sorry, but Megan Fox does not look to be disappearing in her role at all.

And the soldiers from 300... I mean the Foot Soldiers. WTF is that? They don't look like ninjas at all!

I LOVE LOVE TMNT.... But I am not liking what i'm seeing so far. It's the most way off-base iteration i've seen of the franchise yet.

The nicktoons show has been a nice update of the old cartoon homage, while keeping it fresh. I REALLY like what they have done with that.

Yeah, the nicktoons updated cartoon is fantastic. I own the first couple of seasons of the original on DVD and struggled to get through them because of how corny they were so I didn't think I would enjoy the new one. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I also like how they gave the cartoon an updated title song from the original.

I'm really hoping that I'm pleasantly surprised and this new one will be really good but just like everyone else, from what I've seen and heard, my excitement grows less and less and I've been wanting another live action film since I was a kid an the third one came out.

not bad. here is the other photo of the screens. aside from the blatant product placement i enjoy the set. reminds of the cartoon, hell the entire production does so far.

props to the designers

Very cool. Yeah it's too obvious, but that is one product placement just like in the 1990 film feels totally natural to me. I feel the same way about many product placements in the BTTF movies.

It looks cool to me. About the first reassuring thing I've seen about this movie so far. Seeing/hearing the turtles themselves will be the biggest make or break for me though.

Michael Bay being attached still has my hopes so low they barely exist. Between this and Transformers 4 it looks like a bad time for cartoon fans. I love the set design though.

Never understood the hate for transformers. Designs were different sure, but the cartoon was never a seriously dramatic series.

The only design I didn't like in Transformers was Soundwave. First he makes a cameo and just sits in space. Then he rescans into a car, transforms and turns out to be SMALLER THAN BUMBLEBEE. He's supposed to be near Megatron's height. I also wanted Rumble to show up as an 8ft robot and cause some earthquakes

wait, wait... you liked bumblebee's design? :behave

It's mostly the fact that Bay came out and said he didn't like the source material plus the writers aren't that great either. I liked the first one ignoring shia and megan but Bay is a horrid director. Hopefully this one is a surprise as TMNT is a franchise that's pretty versatile even if the original movies are as cheesy as the cartoon (in a good way).

Has anyone here ever read the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle's by Eastman and laird before it was acquired by viacom? It was really, really dark. Haven't read the series since IDW acquired the rights to make new comics.
