"Teen" Costume Thread - Agatha All Along

Figured I'd start an info/build thread for all things "Teen," Joe Locke's not-so-mystery character () from Agatha All Along.

I haven't IDed anything from the costume yet other than the obvious ones of his Doc Marten boots. I imagine the sweater was custom and not just customized, but unsure. I haven't found anything quite like it online yet.

The jeans have the side panels with the star doodlings, evoking his third comic costume, which is a cute touch. These I imagine might have been custom, because I can't for the life of me find anything similar.

The entire outfit is indeed entirely custom, also the lacing of the boots was swapped to a more flat waxed lace to accommodate the pentagram design when they’re laced up.
Off the top of my head, the hoodie is a cotton terrycloth, I think it was dyed custom. The jeans I think are a waxed denim. The knee patch is navy lambskin leather with some little design on it. The belt buckle is from Ohio Travel Bag. The chain was bought in a little storefront in dtla somewhere lol.

I was hoping to discuss some things I had noticed when looking at references pics.

I‘m unsure what color the front panel of his jeans actually is- it looks like a coated black in daylight but then it has this blue sheen around the rips, suggesting it might be a blue jeans instead that maybe has been coated? I can’t entirely make sense of it.

Also (maybe obvious, I don’t know) the Docs actually look like dark red ones too me- could this be the oxblood color?

Yeah I saw that- thank you, such a cool detail! I actually managed to find what I‘m 99.9% sure to be the screen accurate Docs to complete my cosplay. They have a very specific sole that was shown in a bts pic.
Those were Slip Resistant Dr Martens in Oxblood. They have the red stitching, even on the tongue etc. You can sparsely find them on Ebay.

Once I‘ve re regenerated from Con weekend I will try to do a post on my Insta with all the details and link that here.
I think I have even managed to find the screen accurate ring on the right index finger if that’s interesting to anyone

From what I found out, this may be the ring Billy wears on his right index finger. In the scene where he breaks into the house, the ring has been cut open?

As for the shoes, as I mentioned before, I think they are the Dr Martens 1460 Slip Resistant Boots in Oxford Blood?
I found mine on Ebay- they have the stitching around the tongue (we can see that in one picture where the boots were displayed), the light red accent stitching plus they have a very distinctive sole, different at least from my usual docs.
I‘ll attach screencaps and pics of the shoes I got.

As for my sweater, I went with the one from IconicBrandsClothing on Etsy. I met another Billy at con, who had the same sweater and we both agreed we liked it very much and can recommend it.

Also for international cosplayers. I did a google picture search for the belt buckle and found them on Amazon and in my case a local fabric store online.
Not the original source, but looks the same and may be easier to acquire.

If anyone has any questions or wants to discuss, I‘m always happy to help!

Where did you find the spell book holder? I had to make mine from a generic bookholder. For the spellbook itself, I just found a small black moleskin notebook and found some washi tape with the moon phases on it.

Love the idea with the washi tape.

I actually made it myself from different leather scraps I had left, that I all painted black with Angelus paint. Sort of last minute.

I bought a pair of waxed denim jeans (check 2nd hand stores) and then seam-ripped them open and took out the side part. This side part I used as a template to cut out a piece from a regular jeans fabric and sewed that one back on. I then painted the symbols with white fabric paint and closed all seams back up again
Unfortunately I did not take very helpful wip pics for that step
