Teaser: My new lightsaber "working" blade

That's the first picture of a saber blade that'd ever almost hurt my eyes to look at. AMAZING. I can't believe how much light that new design gives off.

Heck, I wasn't even into sabers that much until I saw this thread...hahaha. Now it seems like a must-have.

Be sure to post some pictures or a video of the purple blade when it's done. I'm very interested in seeing what that'll be like...

forcefx, yes the blade does do the retraction and ignition like the MR sabers. It should be easy to convert your MR Fx sabers with this new blade. I am actually working on that now... :)
 
Awesome, it is so bright it dazzles you while looking at it on screen, i sincerely hope you are going to be making these for sale :thumbsup

Let me state that this is not an interest thread, more like a "showoff thread". If/when the time comes to move forward with manufacturing, I will start a totally different thread for that. :)
 
ok, this video is crappy but you get the idea. Its only like 10 fps and is off my digital camera. Way too late last night to get anything oscar worthy. :lol

Anyway, I still need to do a comparison movie to show the differences. But if you want to get an idea of the blade's brightness, just take a look at the ambient light it throws onto the shelving above it. :eek I would compare this to a very bright red fluorescent tube.... :)

That is so SICK... I've got my first MR fx on the way and I'm contemplating how it would look with this new technology in place....an MR Luke will have never look so sweet :eek

So what MR FX sabers have you experimented with?

I see you're using the Vader ANH, but can you do others?

I'm asking because the sound on my Vader ANH sucks really bad. It is ultra sensitive to movement. I'd rather not convert it if I could avoid it.

I'd love to upgrade my Mace with a more purple looking ultra-bright blade. :D
 
Will this new system allow for removable blades, or will they be permanently fixed to the hilt like the MR sabers?

Has there been any more progress on your "in saber" sound boards and speakers?
 
I havent played with any other FX sabers. All the ones I have are defective in one way or another. :thumbsdown. The Vader ANH I have also has the defective sound bug, even after exchanging it 3 times. I bought a mace saber and it looks like the blade is tye dyed. :confused

In any event, I will be doing a blue and green blade too, maybe even fitting those in different custom hilts if I hook up with a hilt maker.

These blades are totally removable, they simply plug in to the driver board. The way I designed them you can change blade colors by plugging in a different colored blade board. No need to take apart the hilt at all, as the driver board works with any of the blade colors.
