Teaser: My new lightsaber "working" blade

"Crazy bright" is right. It certainly puts the MR to shame. How does the blade look when the lights are on? Is it bright enough to still look good with a couple of 60 watt bulbs around? My MR ESB Vader looks pink unless the lights are dimmed. Any word on the blue or green blades?

It was good to see an update on the sound driver. Any progress finding a good in-hilt speaker?

You saber is looking very impressive. I'm looking forward to the next update.

I can vouch for it being bright with the lights on, after seeing it in person. It is still a nice bright red even in light.

Thanks for that. Almost all lightsabers look good with the lights out (of course some look better than others). Finding one that looks good in normal lighting is something of a trick.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, the blade looks good with the lights on. I can actually see it in a fully lit fluorescent room. Just look at the sideglow the blade throws off at night in the video. I just havent seen a saber give off that much sideglow before (we are still amazed). That should be an indication of the light output you are seeing (over 100 candela) either day or night. :)

awesome. :eek

deffinately better than the MR...

i just wish there was a way to light these things all the way to the tip.

is it not possible to make the tip the color of the blade as opposed to clear???

i know that the newer MRs look better than the originals, but all sabers ive seen have the clear tip...

just wondered if it wouldnt help to make a tip with the same material? would it just now glow through?

just wondering.

Could you clarify what you mean by sizes?  You mean dimensions of the internals?

Correct. I guess I should have been more specific. Do you have the final dimmensions on the light controler board and the driver board for the Saber. I am thinking about building a saber and want to make sure I build it so that this kit will fit.

You can light the blade right up to the tip. In the video my blade is actually 2" too long, plus it doesnt have a proper endcap to reflect the light yet. Once it is trimmed down to the correct 36" blade length and the endcap added the tip should glow too. :)

Right now the blade driver board is about 1" x 2.5" IIRC. The driver board will fit in any saber hilt with more than 1" ID. A hilt ID of 1.25" or more would be ideal.

The MR blade held up in the testing, we werent dueling 100%. But I am still surprised it didnt bust on us. Maybe next test. ;)

That last video was just incredible. I'm currently awaiting a custom hilt from randomsabers.com and when I get it I'd love to add one of these blades to my hilt.

By the way, if anyone from MR is currently checking out the boards, then they seriously need to contact you about doing some work for them.

alrigt this has probaly been asked but just answer it again.

how do you make these again?

and how durable are they, can you do some realy battling with them?

and how much are they, and are you thinking of doing some yellow?.?.

alright for the red one, it like doesnt go all the way to the end of the blade, it is nice though.

could i fit this into a 1 1/4" pipe?

Wow. I am new here, and this video really blew my socks off. I am the owner of an MR Vader ESB saber, and your saber puts mine to shame. This may have already been answered, but do you think that you can take a Graflex flash, and install one of those badboys into it (except blue of course). Yes, I know that it has been done with other EL blades and such, but can this one be done like that?

We are working on installing one into a graflex. That is certainly one of the things I would like to do once the blue blade is completed. The only issue right now is the OD of the current blade. So I need to do some tinkering to see if it will go into my graflex "as is".
