TARDIS Flashing light Help

I am hoping someone with some eletronics experience can help me out. I am adding lighting to my fullsize TARDIS and the last bit is the flashing Beacon. The goal is to be able to have an adjustable flasher for super bright LED's or a standard incandescent bulb. I found the standard flasher button that you can put in the bottom of a bulb but you can't regulate it and I would prefer something that would give the light a fade on and off rather then a straight blinking so I am looking for a bit of guidance an help. My soldering skills suck so being able to wire up a circuit is not something I am looking to do. Thanks for any and all help.

Karsten,
That is beautiful! I plan to make my full size police box this summer. Any tips for someone who is getting ready to start?

Thank you, I am very proud of her, I have upgraded the signs to a more old school look and been working on the backlighting for them which is almost done. As for building a full size box. Come on over to the TARDIS builders

I also have a wide array of plans and a builders guide that I can send your way, though those are also available on the Builders site. I look forward to seeing your future TT Capsule :)

What are you using to power the light, AC plug in or DC battery? If it is DC it should not be too hard to figure something out.

This is a good start.

There's this:

It's a kit, and I know you said you didn't want to solder -- but maybe you can bribe a friend. Possibly there are places that offer it already-built, too. Feed this circuit with the Tardis dematerialization effect, and the light will brighten and dim in time with the sound.
