Tandem Build Iron Man Mark IV AND Iron Maiden/lolita

Glenn,
I have been working with your pep file for a week and a half now and It is so great to be able to cut and fly on these builds! I will be filling the gaps on the suit i am making with several coats of wellbond, silicone , and PVA before I apply the final two part epoxy resin marine hardener. Th goal is beyond movie quality and your files are certainly helping me attain that goal. One thing that I have noticed in other builds is the 1/4 in materials others are using kills alot of the bulk of the suit. This 1/2 in stuff is a royal pain to cut and work with but I really do love the result. I am picking up a 130 watt hot knife tommorow and that should speed things up alot! Thank you for your work< It is fantastic.

TWO DAYS!!! It tokk me two full days to get this foam helm done. I Just dont get what makes the helmets on these things so frustrating. Oh well. tomorrow is elbows and forearms. I am thinking of making 2 sets of forearms so one of them can have the expanded open weapons.

Trying to get the forearms done today. Yesterday we made the Corset style back to her armor (Total Custom" and a pair of elbows. I found out AFTER I downloaded printed cut out traced on foam cut out foam and glued it together that I was doing the wrong pair of elbows! The right pair is included with the forearm GlennTech File. The upside is She now has a really nice set of elbows for her suit. Plse ignore the pink that was just the foamies we used.

One build is tuff, you doing several is ridiculous! Keep up the amazing work!

Hey JoWe,

I Have been using GlennTech's foam files as reference on 4Share. The Helm file only says
"IM Helmet File.pdo" on it and was included in the download. Remember that you still have to modify a lot of the parts to make them work. The whole pep file-to-foam file thing is not an exact science yet but that extra bit of challenge does give you a sense of personal touch to your suit build and I really like that.

THANK-YOU ONCE AGAIN TO GLENNTECH FOR ALL OF YOUR WORK!

I have found that the details on this build add alot of hours I don't really have to spend but, the results are really beggining to make me happy.

I have been taking the time to "fill in" the gaps on the suit as I go along and I think that is what keeps me plugging away at this each day. Whenever I get worn out I can just take a few minutes and look at what I have accomplished in a few short weeks and it puts me back into mode. I have got to contact Graphic Jordan soon and see if we can get together. This whole task is a little hard to stay focused on when no-one you know is as much of a geek, Ya' know what I mean?

O.K. These are The latest pics of the build. I am proud of the sub-plate under the chest and the extra detail on the neckline and elbows.

I spent last night pepping the finger armor for both hands. I used 2mm red foamies sheets and now I am trying to ignore the one red part on my uniformly grey suit!!! OCD much? I have been avoiding this part because it looked so tedious but I got to say, It was the most enjoyable part of the build so far! Tiny pieces and uniform, repetitive moves turned out some really cool looking results. I need to finish them and the palm plates today then I will post pics.

On the subject of the Iron Maiden part of this project, I have been pushing ahead on my mark iv cause my daughter is only available a few times a week with college and work and stuff so hers will be finished as we can get the time together. Hopefully hers will be passable by halloween.

As a time saving cheat we are thinking of finishing the top half down to the cod piece on her suit then just buying a pair of thick material thigh hi boots and just customizing those for the halloween season then finishing her leg armor after Oct. Need suggestions on where to find some of those. I want boots that resemble the Arkham city Harley look.

A general tip to you and other people. The original fingers in my files works better then the HD ones from Zabana.
BUT I'll strongly suggest NOT to use the hand palm file of me.
This is to low def. for my 'standards'. I've the knuckles ready, and also the top palm and underpalm. It's just up to me to put in online or not. Because it's a bit 'hard' to make; Little details...
If someone wants to try them and write a 'small guide' about it. Then I'll send them in private to you. I don't want to put something online that is not easy to make for 'beginners'. So I'd like to attach a little guide with it.
Results of knuckles can be seen in my WiP thread somewhere on therpf.com.

I agree with GlennTech on the palm plates. They do come out to simple and plain looking but the fingers are great and function good to boot.

Thank-you for the thighs and Knuckle Files GlennTech. You are now through much thought and deliberation my favorite Belgium!

Working on thighs sunday and monday. then.... i am not looking forward to the shins. they look very time consuming!

It took the full day today to knock out one of the shins and tomorrow i will be done with the last major piece of this suit! All that remaians is the shoes and hip pods, then on to cleaning up all the surfaces and the experimental hardening process.

ANY ADVICE ON HARDENERS WOULD BE WELCOME. IT IS MY INTENT TO USE THE TWO-PART EPOXY MARINE HARDENER USED ON SURF BOARDS. PLEASE ADVISE ON ANY OTHER PRODUCTS.
