Re: Sylgian's 40K Space Marine [WIP]

I 3D printed a whole bunch of helmet bits. Its coming together nicely. I also ordered a voice changer that I will mount inside the helmet. The speakers will face outward from the slotted caps on the ear covers. Should be fun.

Here is the helmet as of this afternoon.

What voice amp did you purchase? I've been looking into ones for my upcoming Ultron build and I haven't found any that are totally great just yet.

Got this little fella. Its a kit, so some labor is involved. But, Im comfortable soldering and some DIY. It sounded pretty good in this test by fellow Warhammer costumers Roses and Boltshells: Terminator voice test - YouTube

Re: Sylgian's 40K Space Marine [WIP]

Mounted up the glospex. My love of all things modular is evident here. I made them removable. They mount with a bit of velcro and come in and out really easily. I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

The voice changer comes tomorrow. Can't wait to play with that.

Inside helmet, glasses out.

Re: Sylgian's 40K Space Marine [WIP]

So I promoted myself to Sargeant and made myself some laurels to make it official. :)

That voice modulator is pretty slick. That's actually pretty much exactly what I was looking for with my Ultron build...

Keep up the incredible work! =)

Re: Sylgian's 40K Space Marine [WIP]

The voice changer I am using is a kit made by velleman, or sometimes called elenco. I picked it up on amazon for $15. You have to solder it together, but I love a little DIY.

I took some pics of the helm again. SO you can see the skull detail I added. I made a few changes to the voice changer as well. A single speaker is now located in the top of the helm and sound exits through the small top vent. It gave me a nice little chamber for the sound to reverberate and the sound now travels forward. IT work much better. I also added a piece of tinted plastic to the grill. I can see through it, but my voice is a bit more muffled by it.

Fans will now probably go in side of the helm if at all. Another nine volt on the opposite side of the helm would be nice to balance the weight. Ill do another video soon to demonstrate the voice changer again.

Re: Sylgian's 40K Space Marine [WIP]

I'm still kicking. Progress has been slower than usual due to other duties. Here is a pic of the mess that will be my backpack... eventually. Stay tuned.

My man!
That video blew me away
I want a voice changer now lol
Your build its looking awesome
What i like the most its that you are designing parts and getting them printed, i like that, i dont know how to do it but i like seeing it ;)
Keep it up

Re: Sylgian's 40K Space Marine [WIP]

I'm very impressed by your build here sir!
I too am currently in progress of building a space marine though I made an error in my scale so for me its back to the beginning :p

Some great ideas in here and some of which I shall hope to implement into my own build.

Keep up the great work, +1 sub :)

Re: Sylgian's 40K Space Marine [WIP]

I'm very impressed with your 3D skills; I love how innovative you have been in this build. Is 3D design your trade or are you self taught?
