SyFy's Heroes of Cosplay

We don't know that he's not getting anything. He might be her roommate, or her 'roommate', if you know what I'm saying.

I'd like to think they are just good friends and he enjoys helping her with her projects.

Spoken like a true victim of friendzoning. Don't worry, we have a club you can join, it even has a decoder ring!

I finally caught this train wreak the other day... First who does bla bla, ya-hoo whats her face, the chubby anime chick who thinks she's the ambassador etc? :rolleyes She's jealous sick of the popular blond who's 10 times better looking, and had the sense to turn down the show.

The steam punk dude just needs to stop cause he's being made to look like a fool.

The girl with her own TV show is definitely hot! She wasn't impressed with the BS either from yoo-hoo/bla bla.

And the Rocketeer costume was easy on the eyes also...:p

Forgot to add that these so called guy "friends/roommates", helping (doing all the work), some cases (pathetically fawning) over for these hot chicks are "friendzone" fools. Good luck with that!! lol

Whilst you may not like the show. She is far from chubby. Lets refrain from personal insult eh? Especially since your kinda insulting everyone here who may have/ whos partners may have the same frame.

I agree, YaYa might not be everyone's ideal look or frame, but she is not chubby.
She is well below the national "average" in weight and while not my cup of tea (I am more attracted to the blonde girl you speak of), I think YaYa is a beautiful woman.... with a personality I don't like ;)

Correction: a TELEVISED personality you don't like. Unless you've met her in person, I think this thread has made it abundantly clear that, thanks to "creative editing," you know next to nothing about her.

So true.... After just watching the video posted above, she seems very nice.

I've never met her before so I can't really make an informed statement about her personality, that goes for every person on the show. However, i'm sure Yaya is pretty cute even without all the makeup. I don't have an ideal frame, I figure if they're smart, cute, and interested in me... that's all I need. ;)

As for the the effect of flowers shooting from the sleeves, i'm surprised the guy didn't grab two turkey basters some tubing and feed this through her sleeves. Build up the end of the roses to obstruct the airway. Sure, she'd have to squeeze the turkey basters with her armpits but it could have worked..

Jinyo's comic book dress confused me a bit. Why not create a flat pattern, glue the pieces of the comic onto the pattern, take a picture of the pattern, import this into photoshop or gimp, vectorize and resize each pattern piece and send the pattern file to be printed onto fabric? Perhaps they were working with time constraints... alternatively they do make fabric with comic book panels printed on them.

Okay, random question here (but oh well).
Have any of the actual "Featured" people on this show ever won? I've been somewhat keeping up with it, and I remember when the guy dressed from World of Warcraft won and when the guy dressed as Isaac Clarke from Dead Space won (by the way, those were super impressive)? The stuff the featured cosplayers make is impressive no doubt, but is it just me, or do the people who aren't "featured" make better and more impressive things than the featured cosplayers?
I also saw where the two featured ladies made the Pacific Rim costume commission... you see, why don't they go to a contest with something like that? That would win for sure.

The formula of the show as presented is that they decide to go to a convention that is 2-3 weeks away, and they start making a 'new' costume to enter the costume contest.

Then, when that convention is over, the next convention is 2-3 weeks away and they have to make another 'new' costume for that costume contest.

It's designed to look like 'Project Runway' or 'Face-Off'. Most of the people the HoC cast are competing against have probably been working on their costumes for months or even years, not 2-3 weeks.

How does Jinyo have two or three different shirts with the new RPF logo?

He contacted us when the show was green-lit and we had Monkey in a Dryer custom make several for both him and Vcitoria.... unfortunately, she wasn't keen on the colors, so you will only see him wearing them.

The best thing is... you can now get your own!

Are we absolutely sure the cast was paid?

My understanding is that they were paid very modestly, but that is my understanding of most shows in their first season... the real money doesn't come until you are picked up for a second season.

You didn't like the screen-used BSG:B+C BDU top I wore as a jacket when I went fabric shopping?

WA-POW!

Yes, I know this is self-serving and narcissistic. Is this Ya-Ya? She looks different.

it looks like YaYa without the extras.......................

I'll just add this...

I loved how When the judges asked how much of the costume he made, he had to go into the costumes entire backstory instead of saying "I made everything you see except the pants.

I thought it was interesting that they have been very hard and heavy on the "how much of this did you make" kick, but didn't ask Chloe those questions.

The sheer excitement on his face when he asked if she popped out and she said almost is pretty much the biggest tell that he's friend zoned.

Apparently we were all thinking the same thing... I could envision a huge red stamp slamming onto the screen and the Mortal Kombat voiceover; "FRIEND ZONED!"

I was wondering what connection to Dykstra Chloe had. Damn she is a catch for some lucky nerd.

That would be Chris Hardwick.

Which is probably why they don't win when compared to a local dude who spent a whole year.
Some Cosplay Royalty chick with a costume factory in her garage and an engineer boyfriend, swoops in after spending a week on a costume?
It is getting better, they are talking about the fun element.

Oh, and we HATE Chris Hardwick. IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!!!!!

Honestly, I'm not a Yaya hater. I don't really have much of an opinion of her one way or the other, other then to say I don't think she's as fabulous as she thinks she is. She isn't really on my radar at all.

I do think she's attractive. She's not my type, but she is attractive. Pretty features, nice figure, common interests, etc...

Looking at that photo I still would have guessed she was at least 40 years old, not 31. I'm no spring chicken, I'm 39 and I could have easily been mistaken for 39 for the last 6-7 years. I just can't get over how young she is compared to how old I thought she was.

Actually, she wore her RPF shirts during the shooting of episodes 5 & 6, like when she was working on her costume. But you shoot for days, and you end up with minutes. I got to wear my RPF shirts a lot more, because I had more say in my wardrobe. (Because no one gave a **** about how I looked.)
