SWTOR. Sith Acolyte/Warrior helmet (Adraas style?) PIC HEAVY

Very nice Sith mask. I also really like the look of the SWTOR Sith Marauders. I created a pep file from the trailers. Was trying to get better reference pics but couldn't find any out their. I just figured out how to add a skin to my files and I'm adding the leafy detail to the mask now. Can't wait to see how it turns out. I really like how you raised the pattern to give it more detail. Looks very cool!

I am never as stunned as when i see someone take basically garbage (ie. paper, cardboard etc.), mix in some imagination and skillfully create something so jaw dropping amazing. My hat is off to you. beautiful work.

Way to go man! It looks great! Very Jealous! This is right along the lines of what I am wanting to do (once I get my garage back).

I'd love to post pics of it with the red areas painted in, only I really messed up! :angry
I used my complete inexperience to completely foul the whole helmet with stuck silicone after I tried to make a mold from it. I used warmed vaseline as a release agent but I didn't want it to fill in the gaps between the pattern so I went over it with a cloth to remove where it looked like there was too much vaseline. Unfortunately this meant that the silicone stuck fast to areas of the pattern, the silicone ripped in areas.
I'm going to have to remove the small pieces of silicone that is stuck all over and repair some of the paint and small details that have pulled away with the silicone.

Not happy, but I suppose I've learnt from it and I know this can be repaired or if not then it can be completely re-made. :cry

Oh, and just so you know - the red paint wasn't perfect either it was a bit too light for my liking and in some light it looked positively pink.

Sorry to hear about your progress, or lack there of. Was really looking forward to seeing the finished product. I know that it can be frustrating but I hope you attempt this project again because I really like your take on the mask.

I had the day off work today so I attempted to repair some of the damage that had been done to it, credit to my wife who made use of her fingernails to spend a couple of hours over the weekend picking away at small pieces of silicone :love

I think I could perhaps do with sanding some of the areas that were previously smooth but it'll do for now, the extra pits and bumps can be battle damage and weathering. :lol

Yeah, that came out very nice. Great recovery from the silicone!

Really looks like it's cast now, pits and all. top notch work!

My question here is: What type of resin did you use to give dimension to the cardboard scraps? I would love to use a similar technique, but I am novice at utilizing resin.

Looks stellar, btw. The black wash really makes it stand out, you can hardly tell there was any damage what-so-ever.

Cheers,

-Arcko

Very impressive job... i think thats one of the sickest sith masks ive seen in the old republic material. You made an excellent replica, and now have a well working technique to use on other projects..(y)thumbsup
