SW: How to build a metal EE-4 blaster from a real Webley flaregun

Hi,
I think it´s fantastic... It´s not the original Flaregun but... what the hell, is looking pretty good!

Thanks - i´m not worried cause the flare is another model, it just made me to build it as a different version from the same lineage, but with other details.

Today daddy got new toys. :cool

Finally, the long needed parts:

There was a tiny problem with the fit, so i used my mill:

To make the slot a little bit wider, 0,7mm:

After that it was possible to fit the flaregun in the notch:

The assembled parts, yeah. :love

To big for a good pic on the workbench:

Needed to lay it down on the shops concrete to get a good angle for a complete pic:

Next job - milling the blocks to mount the scope.

And finally, a size-comparision-pic:

It´s bigger to hold it, than expected from pics.

Thanks.

No, it´s in the same range, just slighly different shaped around the chamber, but nothing that would change the overall size.

Hmmm, anyone here ever painted a real wood stock?

I´m wondering if i better glue the greeblies and black paint all in one, or first a basecoat then glueing the greeblies and a black layer on top.

Any recommendations?

Michael:
Cast up some parts for you last weekend, will have them shipped within the next few days :)

Markus

Dankeschön. :)

Any ideas which way to glue them on the wood works better? I would be surprised if you havn´t used a original/replica wooden shoulderstock on yours. ;)

Rough the wood up a bit and use a simple instant adhesive (=isocyanath sp?)

YEP, used the real Phantom and Revell parts on my reworked EE-3 but the large sideplate has not been identified so I used casts of the correct version (the MR features two different plates)

Might be that I have some real Phantom parts as well ;)

I already roughed it up with some medium sanding paper, and gave it a coat of durable stove paint:

Then it got a good oldschool treatment with some heavy tools, to get the same dents and wearmarks as i know them from my 1904 carbine.

The glue you mentioned - is it a 2K-epoxy, a cyanoacrylat (Sekundenkleber), or ....?

Don´t hurry with the parts, just send them when it is convenient for you. :)
