Supernatural - Creating John Winchester's Journal

That's my feeling as well. If RPFKOV were to release her prints, I think I would go over each of them with ink just to get the impressions on the paper. I think it would give it a more authentic look/feel while having each page being more screen accurate than if free-handing them.

Yeah. I don't know if I'd go over them all, but I'd probably add drawings, annotations, things to make it my own as well.
I'd also like to make pages for every creature or device in the show which isn't shown in the journal pages.

This is true lol , but if RPFKOV ever does over the pages blank down the line i will most def be in line and kicking myself in the ass too for having to do all my pages over :cry
That would be a drag.

Oh, definitely. I plan on using areas that we don't have any knowledge of thus far for filler of things like the demon knife/angel blade, other equipment, items, or creatures.

Men of Letters! Enochian! There's tons of Enochian symbols online. I haven't compared symbols but when it's spoken it sounds like Supernatural's Enochian is the same as the one recorded by John Dee & Edward Kelley. I would be stoked to make pages up of Enochian symbols and the alphabet, and maybe even get some of the original 16th century journal material if I could find scans of it.

You've done such an awesome job on these pages, all your hard work really shows. When you have a finished journal it will look amazing! :D

Totally interested if you do decide to do a run, either way I'm impressed and jealous of your kid!

WOW, your pages and artwork are great! I hope that my daughter's journal comes out as nice :eek

She suggested that we add in some pages from Sam and Dean. I see that you have done that and I think it works really well. Personally, I think they would have been writing in it all along.

Really nice work.

Thank you :$ yea even though they never show it on the show i always felt that they add more stuff in the book it seems more realistic .. plus when you have over a hundred pages to fill you only have so much you can add till you come to blank pages lol . i have alot of other unseen pages like contacts with addresses and phone numbers etc , exorcisms and spells just to break it up from all monster pages .

Maybe a strange question, but what paper is everyone using?
I keep feeling like I want to start my own, but I have absolutely no idea what paper it is (is it even A4 sized?) or if it has some basic print or if someone's ID'd that or just recreates it or what.

A4 is too big. I think A5 would be accurate. I don't understand the 2nd part of the question. Do you mean the font? Looks like simple Arial to me.

I just use regular, but good quality letter sized printer paper. My pages are half a letter sized sheet, or 5.5" x 8.5". It is the most practical for me as I just print from my home printer and then cut the sheet in half.

So this double page spread is just one sheet of letter sized paper (8.5" x 11") printed horizontally, then cut in half. Does that make sense?

Yeah, I know A5 :)
By print I meant... if it's a specific type of lined paper, or plain paper, or college ruled, or a mixture, etc. I should look through some screencaps.

It's definitely not college ruled, the margin would be too large. It's hard to tell paper weight by looking at screen caps but I would say it's probably the same as whatever type of paper planners are printed on today.

A5 paper is 5.8 x 8.3 inches, so 5.5 x 8.5 is just as good.

I decided to just go with regular letter sized paper. Although it may or may not be 100% screen accurate, it is the most practical for me to just print on my home printer and cut the pages in half.

Yeah, that's what I meant. A5 is probably what would come with a journal if you purchased it from a company that included pages, but for practicality at home, half-letter paper is just as good. There's no way to tell for sure anyway, the prop department could have made the pages half-letter.

Here are some pics of my journal. It's a work in progress. I need to put alot more pages in still. Takes a long time to hand traces all the pages.

Jhorcher your whole collection gives me propenvy! I kind of want to rob you :(
How long have you been collecting for Supernatural?

Does anyone know the name of the medals so I can source them? Or maybe I should just work on pages and wait for another run of the covers :)
