Yeah, there's usually, budget permitting, a few days of reshooting planned, just like there's a couple of days of ADR built into actors' commitments. But like batguy said earlier, it's another thing to have to reshoot most of the movie because the test screenings were a disaster.

This looks like a retread of the original and Man of Steel.

That was my feeling too. This new trailer looks like a 'Man of Steel' remake with the Grimdark knob turned down a notch.

I don't get that at all tbh. Man of Steel was "what if humans made Superman worse?" while this looks like "what if Superman forced humans to be better?"

This one kind of looks good not going to lie.

Superman is powerful but not invincible and his "weakness" doesnt seem to stem from something like kryptonite but not being strong enough to perfectly achieve what he wants. Strong and fast enough to protect a girl from getting hit by shrapnel but not strong enough to prevent the collateral damage. Im optimistically hopeful.

I'm getting the exact same vibe. Not feeling it. I see the member berries calling back the '78 film, with the slit-scan titles and the music, but the actual content doesn't feel like Superman to me.

Got to agree, way to much going on for my liking. The old Christopher Reeves movie still ranks as the best for me. Man of steel was great. Superman returns was... What's the word... Forgettable

The member berries are there but IMO it doesn't seem excessive.

This one takes place in a world full of many comic characters. It doesn't seem like an origin flick. It's definitely not a Donner/Reeve/Returns tone. Those older ones were pretty content to spend 2 hours gushing over the idea that Supes existed at all.

When I heard about this I was moderately excited as I'm a huge fan of Superman, GOTG 1&2 and Slither so I know the potential for something decent is there. Definitely not into it after the trailer. Too much cramed into one movie. I kind of want to watch as a curiosity.

I still don't understand the draw of packing as many characters, nods, references, cameos, fan service and storylines as humanly possible. Almost always occurs at great detriment to the main story and characters. I'll take the Donner deep dive over the "garbage plate" type film any day. Also filmmakers and content creators need to stop catering to the 2 second attention span and the need for constant escalating overstimulation.

I somewhat agree. A heavy cast load is usually detrimental. But it can be handled well in the right hands.

Nolan's 'Dark Knight' had Batman, Maroni, the Joker, and Two-Face, all in one movie.

Nolan's last movie had Batman, Robin, Bane, Roland Daggitt, Catwoman, and Talia Al Ghul. Scarecrow made a cameo. The Joker would have probably showed up somewhere if the actor had been alive. (But, granted, this was a final-movie mashup. Nolan didn't try to dive in with this many characters in his first movie.)

Especially, for what is essentially a reboot re-introduction to the character.

It should focus on him and get his overall arc going. Did DC learn nothing from their last attempt to catch up with the MCU?

That's why I cancelled my Disney+ subscription years ago. It's 99% garbage, and the 1% isn't worth the fee.
