Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

I think so too REL. Spoke with Steve last night, he's gotten more Hero kits done and all the owed Hero kits will likely go out later this week. He's dropping two of them in the mail this very morning. :) Next he'll be able to move on to the Standard TIEs. He's only waiting for Koolshade to be drop shipped for the remaining kits. That he expects any day now. Later gentlemen.

Dave :)

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

That is indeed a gorgeous casting. It is good to see a high quality wing star coming out of his garage, and I look forward to the day when everyone is caught up. Good stuff!

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Greetings!

I'm curious: Is Steve taking any new orders for the SS TIE Fighter? I have tried emailing with no response.

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

I think he's trying to move in the direction of no new orders until his old orders are fulfilled. I know he's working out a way to not take funds from customers until their package is ready to box up and ship out.......at least.......for future new projects. He gets tons of email daily, so be patient, he'll answer your emails David.

Moffeaton, yes his castings are a huge improvement to quote Steve. He said all the detail pieces he has collected now get Pressure moulded and cast prior to building up the protos. Then the normal sized pieces can then be pressue moulded and cast as well. The only things he can't pressure cast are the oversized parts like the TIE wings etc.... Those are still having to be cast flat where he can put alot of weight on top of the mould so that each wing comes out nice and uniform. But as you can see...........the new moulds/resins he's using produce nice flat cast pieces. You'll still see a bubble here and there, but nothing like the older techniques. I noticed the same thing with Randy Cooper's offerings. With time, his castings have gotten cleaner and cleaner. Luckily, we get to be the recipients of these improvements.

We do have to keep this in mind............when a studio makes a mould and casts from that mould...........their intent is usually to pull 1-5 castings max out of a given mould. The moulds that have such fine and intricate detail just don't last long as the parts tear them upon demoulding. So when we talk about producing these pieces in a bit higher quantites.........moulds frequently have to be remade and repaired. The castings, in turn start to show more signs of problems as the mould gets more and more used. Hence the re-moulding etc... Not all castings are perfect as we all know. But at least folks like Steve and Randy will send you a replacement piece should one be "outside the norm". I've been a customer of both of these guys for a long while and that has always been their way of doing business. :)

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Hey Dave,

I know you have a fairly close contact with Steve so is there anyway possible you can pass word along to him and suggest that he put up a post or have someone post when he will be taking orders? I have had my eye on a hero tie, but have not worried about it until the dust settles from his back log. I'd rather know that word will be sent when he is ready for new orders as apposed to sending him an email every 3-4 weeks.

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Eric, PM sent. He did say he'd announce when the standard TIEs will begin........but for now, it's the Hero kits he's still working on. :)

Darkside 72.........Steve did specifically mention your order was on the workbench just to give you a heads up. It may be one of the ones going out today. :)

Wow. Nice casting. Thanks for the info. Very exciting!

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Dave,

Thanks for keeping the guys updated! Its true Im not taking any new orders until the rest are fufilled to include the couple of ATSTs owed.

I have a bit of bad news My 4x4 Silverado pickup was stolen from my driveway last night... what a bummer! Im out working the street and someone takes it off my drive way. Not sure if any of you ever had a vehicle stolen.. very helpless feeling. It was locked and all.. It blue booked at about $7000 but we only had liability on it so... SeLaVe... Damn that one hurts!

As far as questions comments about the TIE please email me directly sneisen@bresnan.net I plan of finishing the few Hero TIEs that need to go then knock out a couple standards that are owed then the few ATSTS then finish the run of Interceptors.

Like most here on the board strive for accuracy in these kits and so do I. The next generation of kits will be the most accurate ever. These furture kits are scratched from the ground up using the latest reference pictures availible on line and some that are not :love. I will be out of training and on my own with the Police Department in about 4 weeks. Im sure I will be able to put more energy towards the hobby side of things , but until then its knock out the back orders.

Thanks for the kind remarks. It feels good to finally say we got 100% of a studio scale model kit part identified. Thanks to all involved!

Steve

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Oh Crap!!!! your truck???? that's gotta sting. Sorry to hear that Steve. And you are most welcome for the updates. I'm happy to help in any way I can. I've just heard a few murmurs of not being able to get in touch with you and so I decided to check out the contact info for myself and lo-&-behold.......I got thru on the first try each time I tried. Lots of vendors out there put up a phone number and then never answer. Certainly not the case with Steve.

Steve, maybe your buds down at the police dept. stole your truck to test you..............see if you turn all "Bruce Willis Die Hard Vigilante" on them....LOL.

Dave

Hey THIS IS good news! :) Thanks for the heads up.
I've been dying to build my hero Tie for ... well feels like forever now:lol. I genuinely look forward to giving a positive review of this kit and hope Steve (yea you!) gets on his feet once and for all. I'll post more when I receive my kit. Steve don't forget I need the cored-out cockpit option.

Thanks again,

Jamie

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Yea sorry about the truck...:angry I hope they catch the ******* who did it...

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Hey Ryan! Keep your eyes open Im sure it was heading your way! Funny thing is the gass gauge is broken so it looks like it has a full tank...really it only has about a quarter tank left so when the gas gauge reaches 75% it will be empty.. I use the trip meter to know when to fill up. It had about 130 miles to go before empty.. so I hope the sorry SOB will be stranded somewhere and CHP gets em! Ryan ATL on WY 1-4SF Teal and Silver 93 Silverado!

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Never had my car stolen but it's been broken into twice... even that isn't a very good feeling. So having your entire truck stolen must feel absolutely horrible.

I can tell you that after I got my car stripped, I dedicated myself to rebuilding everything bigger and better rather than sulking about what I used to have. I still remember being "violated" but I'm definitely happy where I am.

So start thinking about new trucks man, this is a good chance to "upgrade" you may even want to look into a car that doesn't guzzle gas too much so you can save some dough.... sigh.. stupid gas prices these days...

Good Luck..

Oh, I'll definitely need a hero Tie kit.. so let me know (or post something) when i can place an order.

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

If its in CCIC, it'll get hit quick, prob. as an abandoned "red tag" once dumbass runs out of gas and leaves it on the side of the road.

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Oh man, sorry about your truck Steve, I'll bring it back as soon as I'm done with it.

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**
