Studio Scale TIE Fighter

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

I just start building and make it up as I go, there's really not much more you can do. Get out a piece of paper, go and get about 10 different colors you think are right, start mixing them in different combinations, then pick the one that looks the closest to you.

Easy :lol

I have one of the kits which I am about to start that has the fuselage that is solid. Any advice on hollowing it out to make the cockpit?

Steve!!!

I wonder if my tie interceptor is shipped. :confused
I already paid and sent PM several times for it.

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

I had a solid tie fighter hull and used a drill press and a hole saw with an extension .....I drilled the front to back out first ..then I did the top.

ok, I give up,

Where does that little triangular piece go?

Not the one that fits inside of the cockpit window.

FYI, I had to sand down the rear "hatch" quite a bit before it would fit.

Also, what is the thinking on that hole in the back?

I know they mounted the ship that way.

Is it supposed to be a window or just black and closed?

it goes on the bottom of the cockpit shell at the front in the triangle area

I sent one a couple weeks ago and got a reply Friday. In the reply he said he was just about to move and would be without internet for an additional two weeks. Don't sweat it guys, most of you have made a move before, it just takes time to get settled. Don't forget all the packing and unpacking and then setting it all up again. He's right in the middle of his move if I read my email correctly. It's all good gentlemen.

Dave :)

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Got my Tie Int today, all good apart from a few little worries, there is def not enough T track to go around the wings & my wings are quite banana shaped. What is the best way to straighten them out? How many pieces of T has everybody received, I got 6 but to do one wing would be at least 4?

Re: STUDIO SCALE TIE FIGHTER **UPDATED PICS**

Ok looking at the kit I can see that there is enough T track to do the wings and all the other parts...6 pieces will work....they are 15" each, and 6 at 15" is = to 90"

I thought the T was to go around the whole of the wings? There is some damaged T on the inside of the wings but this would eat up 2 strips, on the Out of time build up it shows the T being applied around the wing circumference?

I found on my salzo X-wing, that soaking the fuselages in hot water and putting weights on them over night straightened them up fine.
They were a little bowed. I used this technique to also get the end cap to fit properly, it was a little large so I again, soaked the fuselage in hot water and bent the end ever so slightly so things would line up properly.
