there are two different kinds tfs-4 is on the left and steves is t-4...these are the codes...the left is fineline styrene ...and the right is traditional ABS tees

I did order t-4, I said that in my post. the package is labled as T-4. So either Plastruct pacaged a bunch of TFS-4 in T-4 packages or T-4 is no longer available.

Still thinking what to do with the back "window".

Here they have a pic of Vader in his TIE advanced with rear window.
Which of course is BS for his ship, but still supports that is supposed to be a window back there.

Blacking it out sure sounds nice because the interior isn't much to look at unless you go nuts.

Any shots of interceptor mock up cockpits from Jedi footage?

I've simply put a bit of coolshade in there. A homage to other Tie's & it also is comp between being a window & a solid engine port? Not canon but it looks cool & fits the hole Tie look?

ok i looked at this and you are right that there is some t track that does not match. The tfs-4 is white and the abs t-4 is gray so they might have run the gray material through the tfs die. T-4 is available, I called plastruct and they are checking there warehouse. I will let you know....

Well the T-4 I got in the mail today is the tapered stuff so that's what I'm gonna use because I got plenty of it now.

I haven't received the regular TIE kit yet, and I'm sorry if this has been covered earlier in this thread, but is the Plastruct material necessary for the standard kit as received from Steve or is it an upgrade to the parts included with the kit? And which profile shape is more accurate? Thanks.

You shouldn't need any for any of his kits. Steve tries to always include everything needed. These guys just didn't want to wait for replacement parts and ordered their own. To answer your question better, I believe the standard kit has these details already moulded in. I'm assuming these guys are referring to their TIE INTERCEPTOR kits rather than the regular TIE fighter or Hero TIE fighter kits. Have I misread all this fellas????

Thanks. I actually meant I have the hero TIE on order. It seems that the plastruct material is not needed at all for standard TIE, just the interceptor?
