Studio Scale Tie Fighter armature mounting pole/panavise etc help

Hello

I'm currently in the throes of building a Nice-N-models Tie which Steve shipped to me last year as part of the owed list. Anyway after modifying the armature to get a good fit with the spare Efx wings I'm in need of a mounting pole of sorts. The centre section of the armature has as I understand a 1/2-20 threads per square inch pattern for mounting the standard Panavise or whatever it was. I'm basically in need of such a mounting pole. Anyone here machining such an item or has the appropriate mounting pole of sorts for the Studio tie? Any pointers/advice would be greatly appreciated. Presently have a 1/4 inch screw threading into bolts soldered into a brass tube- not really a good combinations as the whole tie is leaning like the tower of Pisa....

Yes sure- diameter - 28mm length - 331mm I needed to shorten the armature and cut in notches to allow the wings to bolt on.
