Selling sets of these?I got another set of leg parts machined! This time the upper leg. Next up will be making all the upper leg mechanism parts and buying all the screws that hold this thing together.
I had trouble getting a perfect cosmetic finish on the leg part. When these parts come off the mill, the machined surfaces are so shiny it's really hard to tell what they look like. I use some fine sand paper and steel wool to dull up the surface a bit so I can see what it actually looks like and photograph it. I still need to work on getting a totally uniform look. Ultimately totally unimportant but I like it when machined stuff looks prefect.

The leg is starting to have some heft to it. I'm really liking that!

Thanks! That is looking amazing! I remember them saying in a documentary that the studio scale pyro version in the movies got up to 100 pounds. the weight caused the locking pins in the legs to not work, so they had to hoist it up.
Heh! I'll have to work out the pricing.Selling sets of these?![]()
I think the ring holder screws are 6-32. The ones on the ring look to be a little smaller so probably 4-40.Does anyone know what size Alan bolts these ones are at all? I've got a SS AT-AT that I'm looking to include real bolts into. Thanks

Jedi !The part circled in red is from the Hasegawa 1/72 Morser Karl.
Thanks! I've been having a lot of fun putting it together.Big C,
Similar to Sano, I just came across your thread. Love the Walker. “Obsessive Craziness” is a good self identifier. The mechanical design of the AT-AT’s is above and beyond. I envy your machining ability. Beautiful work on a extremely worthy subject.
