Those really came out clean and picked up the detail well.
Sweet....glad the weather cooled off enough for you to get into the garage.
 
Thanks guys. It's a race against the heat again today to get the nacelles done. Tomorrow is supposed to be 102 but if I start early enough I should make it with the second set up nacelles.

The second engineering section hull came out great too. Just opened it. But it's starting to heat up already so I'm out of here and into the garage. Tomorrow finishes the fiber glassing until I sell another kit.

I'd like to learn more about the best way to accurately trim off the scrappy bits along the edges so that the two halves fit together tightly.

Any specific tricks?

Nick there really isn't. I trim most of it off with a dremel right up to the edge and flat sand the whole thing. Then the two sides fit pretty clean and a bit of filler and sanding and you're good to go.

Love the video; great as always. I also love the fact that you KNOW there are only 3 weeks of summer left. Love it!
 
Technically it's a bit more but close enough. Living in the valley as I do this is my indoor season. ;) Winter is the opposite.

This is super exciting. It'll be a relief to have a garage kit where bubbles are the exception instead of the norm.
 
Again, great video. I think I recall you were going to build the production version. Any plans on building a pilot version?
 
Oh yeah, you gotta do both pilot versions (no lights for the Cage model!). And production. And one with theoretically realistic details. Of course I don't have room for even one :cry
 
Congratulations on getting to the end. The hardest part of a project is the last 10% and it takes strong willpower to make it through. It'll be great to see what you do when making your kit.
 
Just got caught up on the videos. Man did those castings turn out sweet. Can't wait to see you move onto the build phase. This is truly inspiring to behold!

Well today was a bit of a wash out. Had to take the wife to emergency at 5 am. She's fine and back home resting. I could use a bit of sleep but I did get out and get more supplies and started the base and pole foundation that tomorrow will hook up to the substructure.

I was able to run any parts. 105 in the garage prevented that. So off to bed early and back in the shop early. The big bad heat should be gone this weekend.

I hate summer.
