Stormtrooper Bio - First Cast Painted And Pics On A P1 Mask

This is very cool.  I always thought the combo of  bio and a stormtrooper lid was a cool idea.

Many thanks Brian, been having a blast sculpting this.

Now it looks like a TK bio!  Great job so far...I'm in for one of these once completed :)
Thank you, I've been using my trooper helmet as a reference, trying to blend the designs together while still keeping the main features noticeable.
I'm hoping to order my supplies tomorrow, then if all goes to plan, I'll have it ready for moulding early next week.

I think I've finally got the basic shape as I want it now, so I started to do some refining tonight, mainly getting on with sorting the symmetry out. I roughed out the hose connector, reshaped the tri laser housing and basically started to tidy everything up.

Still a way to go yet, but enjoying it so far.

There's one thing I'm unsure about at the moment though, should I sculpt the mics in place, or should they be made as separate pieces?

I'm inclined to go for separate pieces, but I'd be interested to heat what you guys think, thanks.

While I'm waiting for my sealer to arrive I decided to get on with what I thought were microphones, but when I googled for images I found out they are called aerators.
Anyway, after searching through my spares box, I found some bits which went together without too much work, and I cut up an old speaker grille for the mesh.

Once I'd glued them together, I ended up with these, they just need a bit of cleaning up before moulding in silicone.

Now to find some bits for the tri laser...

I found some bits in my spares box again to make the tri laser housing, I cut down some tube shapes I found, the centre part is from a pen.

The base is a piece of plastic trim cut to shape.

To make the shapes in between the lasers I thought it would be easier to sculpt them out of Klean Klay.

The aerators and tri laser are now in silicone, just waiting for my sealer to arrive so I can mould the bio.

I managed to get some time in on this over the last couple of days, so tonight I got the first resin pull out of the mould.

I'm fairly happy with it, and it fits my custom mask which is what I was after, now to cast the tri laser and aerators.

Had a real blast sculpting this, really enjoyed working with WED clay, thanks for the advice and encouragement guys.

Looks really good, I think you captured the stormtrooper helmet look, but still looks very predator.
Thanks backbone, glad you like it.

I've just got the bio trimmed and the eye slots cut out, hopefully get it primed in the morning.

Predatrooper
Thanks - I might call it that if you don't mind.

I've decided that I wasn't happy with the overall smoothness, so I've been filling/sanding the cast, then when I'm happy with it I'll make another silicone mould for what will hopefully be a cleaner pull.

The Predtrooper looks very cool.

I love the design! What's next, "Predfett"?
I think someone has already done that.

The original creator of the 'Porsche' has done several Fett bio helmets.  I like this one much better!  Can't wait to see it finished.

Many thanks, I know a few designs for Predfett have been bouncing around, I 'm not sure what style bio I'd like to try next.

Thanks Brian,  glad you like it, don't think I'll get anywhere near as smooth as the Porsche though, but hoping to have it smooth enough for moulding tomorrow.

I had a design of my own predfett and other member here had a design for a stormtrooper bio too, granted me permission to sculpt it but i never went and did it, but i like how you did yours

Thanks very much, it's a shame you never got round to sculpting the predfett or the stormtrooper bio.

Got this ready for moulding now.

Happy new year to everyone, I've had some time to get on with this over the holidays, I smoothed out my initial cast, made another silicon mould then cast a couple out of the new mould.
I've done a quick paint job on the first one just to see what it would look like, I'm not too sure if the grey areas are too dark though. I've got temporary lenses just sitting in there for the pics and I also need to add some leds, not sure what colour yet though, maybe white, seeing as the bio is white.

I'll see if it fits my P1 head, if it does I'll see if I can post some pics.

Any comments/suggestions welcome as always.
