Still lovin' my 80's metal!

Wow, this this post and replies bring back memories. I was a long hair until about 3 years ago. Sadly, my guitar playing skills have fallen quite a bit (although I still own a custom ibanez and a PRS as well as some other guitars). I went to a lot of concerts, most after graduating high school. The big one was Day on the Green (Victory, Yngwie, Y&T, Metallica, Ratt and Scorps. Later on, I got to meet a lot of these bands and get backstage passes. I got to see a meltdown between Dokken and Lynch first hand and it was awesome!

Ever since I started working for PlayStation 17 years ago, I've got of meet (and in some cases, work with) some of these guys. They are just regular dudes who are trying to make a living playing music or composing now that the golden era is over. I actually got to shoot a videogame trailer for Singstar 80s at Dee Snider's house and I feel comfortable calling him a friend.

One of the coolest things is that, when KISS re-designed their costumes a couple years back, my wife, who makes silver jewelry, custom fabricated Eric Singer's costume belt buckle. We got front row tickets and if you google "Eric Singer Jimmy Page", you'll see the buckle next to Jimmy!

Wow, I had no idea KISS had a wardrobe update (probably for the Sonic Boom album). Very cool and I love Eric Singer's drum playing. Still, if only Eric Carr were still alive as I hear he was one of the coolest most humble guys out there. He really went before his time. I would LOVE to have attended a non makeup KISS concert from the 80s just to see Eric Carr rip out one of his killer drum solos from "God of Thunder". Does Singer do solos these days during KISS concerts?

BTW, I am honestly surprised nobody has yet mentioned the late great Ronny James Dio, either in regards to the group Dio or the post Ozzy Black Sabbath. I mean, who wouldn't like Holy Diver or "The Mob Rules" by Sabbath off the Heavy Metal soundtrack album. :D

Didn't care too much for the Ronnie J Dio solo stuff. The Mob Rules on the other hand is like the metal bible to me.

Kiss had a wardrobe change on every tour once the makeup went back on. Started with the Reunion tour and has been going ever since.

Eric does a very good solo.

Anyone catch the release regarding the upcoming Kiss/Crue monster tour coming in July ? Dio was one of the best "Last in line" was one of my favorites amongs Diver, Rainbow and Sabbath stuff he did. Met him once after a show back in 2000 was one of the nicest and humble gentleman I have ever met.
