Still lovin' my 80's metal!

Yeah, Stryper is one of the best bands I've ever seen. Also, the nicest bunch of guys you'd ever want to meet.

Sweet still plays drums sideways. :thumbsup

Rylo, glad to hear there's a fellow Stryper fan here! Been a big fan of their's since '85. These days I wind up listening to a lot of Disciple which is a bit heavier but probably my favorite band currently.

I still love 80's metal... I mean, it's kinda hard to not love it when it was the music I listened to throughout my teenage years. Dokken, Ratt, etc. ... really love Wasted Years by Maiden - man, what a great song.

There's a host of other bands I could mention that for me fall into the 80's metal category though I dunno if other folks listened to these guys much because they were largely religious bands in the vein of Stryper - Guardian, Halo, Recon, Deliverance, Sacred Warrior, etc.

But probably my favorite 'hair metal' song of all time that I unapologetically turn up to ridiculous volumes every time I hear it is appropriately titled "Turn Up the Radio"... Don't mind if I do :p Autograph - Turn Up The Radio (Music Video) - YouTube

Man, I love a lot of those, Exodus and Overkill are two of my favorite bands, but Testament.....god I love Testament. And their last album was spectacular! Here my favorite track from it...

And my absolute favorite band, Forbidden! Much the same as Testament, but not as well known. They also released a new album not too long ago, here's a good one from that...

This is slightly off topic but VH1 Classic shows the 2011 80s rewind concert (mostly pop bands) and you'd be amazed at how many 20 somthings and even younger are in the audience having fun.

I saw Stryper a few years ago and I have to say that they put on one of the best shows I have seen! It was a guitar players dream to say the least!

Let's not forget about Y&T :)

i'm annoying everyone at work at the moment with my ac/dc (70's bon scott days)

great music never dies.

I never cared for them after seeing them on Headbangers Ball. They played the hard-ass part a bit much for my liking. Very Danzig-ish that way.
*gasp* They are like Viking Metal!(From New York, but still) They were before Danzig. Neener neener.

So great to see all the love for Dokken! Lynch is who inspired me to pick up the guitar way back in 87....I can still listen to all of those albums. ( the first ones, that is...after they broke up and re-united briefly I didn't care for those) Lynch Mob had some great songs too.

I've had the privilege of meeting George a few times, this one was a few years ago at a guitar clinic in Raleigh.

Yep--me too, bud!
Been a Lynch fan since 1984. Met him the first time in '87:

I was at the Monsters of Rock in Memphis. Fun times. Car broke down right before the show and had to hitch a ride there. I was front and center for Metallica. Got one heck of a sunburn. Another highlight was the paper cup/garbage fight that made it look like it was snowing in the stadium. All bands were solid.

Robert412: Say what you will... :lol

DUDE, I was there, too. that was the summer of 88, right? Remember at the end when that guy climbed up on top of the scoreboard (7 or 8 stories up) and everyone was yelling JUMP JUMP!!

Of course...It's a supergroup! Everyone but Mark is a metal god, anyway.

Jason Bonham/drums, Jeff Pilson/Bass, Zakk wylde/Guitar and Mike Matijevic (Steelheart) singing most of the vocals. In fact, all the vocals you mentioned.

Here's the original version of, "We all die young."

AND, since you mentioned it, here's a pic of some Steel Dragon swag from the corner of my office.

Dunno.

I've spent some time around Mike and told me he did the ones I mentioned to you. It's discussed in the Director's cut, too. Myles Kennedy (who played Thor at the end) is also mentioned. Never heard a thing about Soto being on the soundtrack.

Mike Matijevic and Jeff Scott Soto both did vocals as far as I understand it.

I've got a few albums from the bands mentioned on this list. My collection has KISS (mostly, still a metal classic with Creatures being their most metal album), Priest, Twisted Sister, Maiden and a little AC/DC. I've also got some Halen, even though it evolved a little away from Metal when Hagar joined. Others I'll add to this list

Motorhead (Lemmie rules! heh heh)
Pantera (okay, going a little away from 80s metal, but KISS inspired them so they count)
Sammy Hagar (when solo he had some metal-ish tunes, even if it was more polished)
John Jett (maybe more standard Rock, but she compliments metal bass guitars nicely)
Scorpions (Rock me like a Hurricane!)

John Jett still kicks it quite well (and looks good to boot). Get her in concert in a bar atmosphere and it is old school (Do you wanna touch... Yeah! Do you wanna touch... Yeah!...).

Some of the choices on this list are pretty good, until you factor in what Beavis and Butthead did to them back in the 90s when they riffed their videos (Accept and Overkill for a couple of examples, still hillarious though).

BTW, if we count Steel Dragon, then we are forgetting the greatest Metal band of all...

SPINAL TAP!

I mean, how can you NOT like Big Bottom, or Stonehenge? :D
