Still lovin' my 80's metal!

I was finally gonna get to see Maiden live when they were with Ozzfest. A few days before the show comes to my town and they drop off the tour!@!@L$@$@ I also kick myself every now and then for not seeing Van Halen on their 1984 tour when I had a chance to go.

I still routinely play Megadeth, Slayer, GNR, Metallica (all 80s pre-suck), and much, much more. Once a metalhead, always a metalhead. If I hear "Dream Warriors" or RATT or "Final Countdown" or whatever, it puts a great big fat smile on my face.

A couple of my random, less heard of faves were D.R.I. and Sacred Reich. Also, remember Dangerous Toys?

Yeah I remember Dangerous Toys! Do you remember Danger Danger?

I don't but I'll have to look them up!

I used to have a Dangerous Toys shirt that said "Sprotin' a Woody" in huge hot pink letters on the back. My teachers loved that, let me tell you :lol

More Maiden, LESS Dokken! How in the hells did Van Halen put Metallica before Dokken on the Monsters of Rock tour? I could quite literally feel my clothes moving with how loud(And awesome) Metallica was on that tour. I used the Dokken bit to go get a t-shirt and walk around til the Scorps came on.

we showed up late due to being pulled over en route for open containers, so we "missed" Kingdom Come.
Arrived just as Dokken took the stage.

Wow, so you actually missed Metallica. See, that would have left me a bit angry. I left that show so sunburnt it was not even remotely funny. Lobsters wanted to be that red.

Rylo, glad to hear there's a fellow Stryper fan here! Been a big fan of their's since '85. These days I wind up listening to a lot of Disciple which is a bit heavier but probably my favorite band currently.

I still love 80's metal... I mean, it's kinda hard to not love it when it was the music I listened to throughout my teenage years. Dokken, Ratt, etc. ... really love Wasted Years by Maiden - man, what a great song.

There's a host of other bands I could mention that for me fall into the 80's metal category though I dunno if other folks listened to these guys much because they were largely religious bands in the vein of Stryper - Guardian, Halo, Recon, Deliverance, Sacred Warrior, etc.

But probably my favorite 'hair metal' song of all time that I unapologetically turn up to ridiculous volumes every time I hear it is appropriately titled "Turn Up the Radio"... Don't mind if I do :p Autograph - Turn Up The Radio (Music Video) - YouTube

I was in college during the mid to late 80's. Perfect age for Hair metal. I absolutely loved it all.

Nobody ever remembers how influential the German band ACCEPT were, with powerful songs like BALLS TO THE WALL, and HEAVEN IS HELL, METAL HEART, etc. I still LOVE those songs!!

They get mentioned on "That Metal Show" lately. Sadly vh1 classic is getting as bad as normal vh1 with showing movies, behind the music, a really dull series about the history of metal, and that metal show constantly instead of videos.

I was at the Monsters of Rock in Memphis. Fun times. Car broke down right before the show and had to hitch a ride there. I was front and center for Metallica. Got one heck of a sunburn. Another highlight was the paper cup/garbage fight that made it look like it was snowing in the stadium. All bands were solid.

Robert412: Say what you will... :lol

Lots of love for Udo Dirkschneider!

Big fan of the German band, "Victory" too.
