about halfway done with the 3D model. The propmaker sure didn't do himself any favors with the sliding crystal cover. Instead of the room in the lower barrel being enough to house the crystal, it also needs to move slightly upward in order to close the gun completely.
although it gave me a headache, i figured it out. 3D model will be done soon.
I will also add lights to the piece. 15 blue leds on each side, 2 or 3 blue ones behind the crytal and a superbright and that lights up behind the crystal when the trigger is pulled. The small rectangulars above the grip will become 2 slide switches, one to activate the 30 leds, the other to light the crystal, the trigger will activate the bright white one to simulate firing the gun.
Only thing i will probably do on the replica that the original doesn't seem to have (besides the one on top) is fasten it all with screws, so it can be taken apart easily to replace broken leds and empty batteries.
