Starforged crysknife

OK, it arrived today... I ordered the "Alloy" version and with shipping I'm in $78.99

First impressions - the paint job isn't the greatest, but I'm not really surprised by that. The bright, stark white paint at the end of the blade was a poor choice, IMO.

A small spot of paint got pulled off near the tip and it would appear that the underlying resin (?) is a darker bone color:

The entire handle is metal, with the organic part painted:

The blade is a separate piece that plugs into the handle:

With the entire handle being metal, it's a bit back heavy. But it's nice that it's real metal.

And here's the Starforged (bottom) with the United Cutlery (middle) and the Corellia Creations V3 (top):

They all need to be repainted, and I'll get around to that eventually. I'm just not sure when, exactly.

Oh that’s weird that the whole handle is metal… also means if the brown chips it will look weird. Yeah that blade does not match the color of the stock photos well

Its pretty egregious that they completely skipped the wash on the blade seen here:

Mine arrived! I dig it!

I don’t think the whole handle is metal. Tapping it on my tooth, the material feels very different to the metal part. It might be a resin sleeve over a metal section though. Feels very sturdy in that way.

The wash on the blade is very very minimal but the overall brown to white airbrush fade isn’t too bad at all.

If you put a light behind you get a bit of that fun bone translucency effect but not too much otherwise.

Stand works fairly nicely and I like the simple design. Might make my own down the line one day though.

I’m totally happy with mine. Recommend.

I think you're exactly right - I scraped a bit of paint off the organic part of the handle and it's resin (or some other type of plastic):

Upon closer inspection, I found two spots that weren't filled in by adhesive + paint and it definitely appears that the knife is a three part construction - this part of the grip seems to be a U shaped sleeve that fits over a central rib.

If the rest of the handle isn't solid metal then it has a THICK layer of plating, because it has a significant weight to it.
